I haven’t read this all yet but I have to say, this sub stack is *such* good value! So much content, and such frequent updates. Thanks Anna, I’ve only been subscribing for a couple of weeks but I’m so impressed already (& thanks for the help with the brown linen outfit, I am rocking it today in NYC, with black accessories, as you suggested!)

I love the idea of mixing jeans and a casual top with the fanciest bag you own!

Okay this is a long comment so bear with me 🫠 Anna, I like every single one of these outfits. Especially how you name the pieces as building blocks in an outfit formula. Makes it so easy to transfer them to my own wardrobe.

Your trick with dressing up/down outfit 4 with a blazer got me thinking - since I have to pack for 4 outfits for the next to day on a short trip to Copenhagen;

- 2 x workwear (for the office)

- a casual but smart outfit for a general assembly at a organisation that I’m a board member in

- a dressier and kind of sexy outfit for a night out with my girls.

I packed one pair of jeans, a light blue linen shirt, a tank top, and a blazer. And to pair with all of it a cute little bag and pointy boots.

I’m amazed by how many combinations you can create from just these four pieces.

- Jeans + shirt: monochrome blue base. Looks kinda like outfit 1

- Jeans + shirt + blazer: give it that messy undone feeling by opening the blazer and roll up the sleeves (looks kinda like outfit 3 with a blazer added)

- Jeans + tank top + blazer: casual workwear for office. The simplest one of the four

- Jeans + blazer: for dressing up this outfit I’ll add a belt on top of the blazer to cinch in the waist and add lace bra underneath (looks a lot like outfit 4)

I hope it makes sense. Haha I’m just so excited by these looks - and the only things a have to pack is the vest top and the belt. The rest in on my body while I’m travelling.

(Ps. I’m new to Substack but I’m loving this community and your posts)

Love the linen waistcoat and midi silky skirt combo - it works in a variety of options (dinner, drinks, party, brunch, some work events)!

All such good looks and take pieces we would wear in other parts of our life into evening. I actually feel lost in this space as well, and have been considering investing in some "going out" or "evening" tops. Sometimes I just want to feel special and wear something I don't wear all of the time - like create a separation from regular mom life and really feel dressed up.

I’m out at 7.30 tonight, had the biggest pile of clothes on my bed and then I remembered this post! Wide leg jeans, long line black waistcoat and pointed snake loafers, thank you for the inspiration 🥰

I love all the styles!!! But if I may, what about outfits that works with closed shoes, the ones you can cycle with or walk in the rain the 15 minutes to your tube station? 🫣😅
