The Weekly Wishlist: How I'm Planning On Curbing My Clothing Spend
...and nailing my working-from-home uniform
This newsletter includes:
Two very good leopard print jackets, a ‘true autumn’ approved colourful jumper and three secondhand watches (plus their high-street dupes).
I’ve been on a Substack- spree this week - here’s what I’d recommend reading. Plus the paid subscriber perk that I never talk about, but it might just be the best one!
Identifying my working-from-home uniform for the season and the two items you probably already have in your wardrobe that are about to come in *real* handy.
Styling my new red jumper five ways (plus I’ve hunted out some dupes for you).
…and finally, I’ve made a plan for how to get a handle on my spending, and here’s how I’m implementing it immediately.
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list, and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six-piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary, which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you with ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. Plus a monthly style clinic where you can send me your wardrobe woes for me to solve. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up for the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’ll have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
ARKET Leather Ballerinas in Dark Brown* & ARKET Leather Loafers in Black*
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. ARKET do very good shoes. There were a pair of mock-croc pointed-heeled boots that I screengrabbed to share with you, but they are sadly long gone already. However, don’t sleep on their flats!! I love the colour of the dark brown pair - although they read a little burgundy to me? And the loafers feel like a possible high-street alternative to the Le Monde Beryl pair that I’ve barely taken off in the past month. Pop on some socks, and you can wear them all winter long.
Sézane Milo Classic Bag in Smooth Khaki*
I have this bag in ‘classic heritage leather’, I think it’s called, and it’s a cute addition to my bag collection. It’s not my most-used bag, but when I need one that adds polish to an outfit, then this is what I reach for. Being made from smooth leather in a structured shape (and ultimately a little Celine-adjacent), it can smarten up a formula that’s leaning a little too casual. And this new colour is lush. It’s inspiring me to wear more of a bag that I own in the same shade.
The Frankie Shop Double-Breasted Wool Blend Coat* (I’d order this in a S - it looks *very* oversized)
There’s a lot from The Frankie Shop that, in my eyes, can be duped easily elsewhere. However, their oversized coats are on another level, like this one. It is similar to the oversized black version I have, but in a wool blend and, ultimately, a little more winter-friendly fabrication. And the styling of it here? Add it to your winter-style inspo folder immediately. It’s not spot on, but Whistles has a similar-ish one here* (and we all know they do a CRACKING Black Friday sale).
