This post is in partnership with NET-A-PORTER*. I know. I just can’t.
THE ‘NON-KNIT’ KNIT…
The weather in the U.K for the past week or so has been out of whack in a major way, so I’ve been reaching for my long-sleeve jumpers, but with the summer due to return this week, a knitted tank is a good in-between for right now. I picked up this James Perse Ribbed Cotton & Linen-Blend Tank* (I wear a size 2) earlier in the month, and it’s been handy for those days when you want to wear knitwear, but you’d melt in anything too heavy. It’s navy, so softer on me than black and pairs beautifully with a white linen trouser. It’s my first purchase from James Perse, but if you’re into an elevated basic, they have that category down. Case in point…
A NEW STYLE OF DENIM..
I realised there was a gap in my denim wardrobe for a pair in a mid-blue wash that was neither wide-leg nor too slim—something in between. I’d never bought a pair of Loulou Studio denim before, but I lucked out with my order and these ones* fit like a glove (I’d say they run true to size). They fit neatly around the waist and thighs and are exactly the kind of wash I was looking for. They need to be hemmed for sure (for reference, I’m 5’7”), but until I get around to that, I’m enjoying them rolled-up. I can’t wait to wear these once the weather cools a bit with a heeled pointed boot and a suede jacket.

THE COLOUR OF THE SEASON…
I’m calling it now. I think brown will be the standout neutral of the season and green will be the go-to colour and as a certified ‘True Autumn’ on the colour wheel I am thrilled about the prospect of both of these. I sat out the red trend last year (aside from a pair of socks - I dipped my toe in quite literally), but this deep olive tone I am INTO. I picked up this Toteme Jumper* only a few weeks ago (I’d say go a size down - I’m wearing a S), and I’ve been desperately trying to find ways to incorporate it by throwing it over my shoulder or tieing it around my waist. It’s perhaps the softest thing I’ve ever owned.
A TOUCH OF ANIMAL PRINT…
If you’re a regular reader of this newsletter then you will know that I’ve barely taken the Toteme Everyday Ballet Flats in Leopard Print* off since I got them. In fact there was a full week where I wore them every single day (find photographic evidence of that here). I’ve worn them for a day of meetings in London, pottering around the local town, childcare drop-off, to Pilates - I wear them everywhere. They go with everything and the the leopard print pattern is just the right tone. I also love the funky shape, it adds a point of interest to my outfits that tend to sit more of the basic side of things. Here are some other great options…
THE BEADED NECKLACE…
I have toyed with the idea of buying the Lié Studios The Rose Carnelian Necklace* for over a year, but this month I took the plunge and I’m so happy I did. I’ve been enjoying wearing it with the James Perse V-Neck*, but mostly I’ve been wearing it with an all-white outfit. Throw it on with the Toteme Leopard Print Flats* and that’s the perfect end-of-summer outfit right there. If you’re like me and you like a chunky gold necklace, perhaps a beaded one is a nice option to add…
What a dream. Five NET-A-PORTER pieces that I’ll be wearing well into the depths of autumn. Somebody prise those Toteme leopard print flats off me! I predict they’ll be my best buy of 2024. They have my heart.

Beautiful choices! I love your jeans, great fit.
The green resonates a lot with me, it feels like an update to the sage green that has been everywhere in summer (and with me, I love it), and now it transits into fall slightly warmer. Beyond the neutrals green is always one of my more colored choices, and the green / blue denim combo rocks for me in any shade. So beautiful!
Hi Anna, I’m a long time follower (since vivianna) and no “shade”, but I just wondered if it was fair to call this post on Instagram five things that you “bought” this month - since technically weren’t all of these gifted? I just wondered if the language could perhaps be more transparent, particularly in these current challenging economic times? Especially when it’s from such an expensive website that the majorly of readers can probably rarely afford? Thanks!
