Okay this was inspirational on a whole other level! I need to channel some of your organizing energy and give my closet the love it deserves. I don't know why but I am always slightly turned off by trying on my outfits in advance though. My weird brain makes it feel like that outfit is then already "used" and no fun... Do you ever get that?
I get that!! But then I do find it helpful when I'm rushing about in the morning knowing that I have a few formulas already in the bank and good to go! x
I get that especially when packing for a trip, the downside is if I don’t, I overpack and that leads to much frustration for everyone involved. I’ve learned to pre-style an outfit and leave the shoes and accessories for day of. This helps to make it feel new day of.
getting to the end of month 7 on my "year of no new retail" experiment and it is truly fascinating. Played with some new combos earlier this week...it's going to be a chic fall...with nothing new! (important note: this experiment does not include consumeable items which need to be replaced, like white t shirts that yellow/stain yup...that first cup of coffee doesn't always go so smoothly lol or black t shirts that fade, or running shoes which wear out after a certain amount of miles/pavement)
A mezze platter! I love this. I do the cleanup. Outsource the steaming. And one thing that makes me surprisingly happy is a stain removal step. I put all the stainy things on a rack and use a kit of Carbona stain removers from Amazon and it’s soooo satisfying. Thank you for this delight! 😘
I was just thinking about this today! Thank you! Question: do you ever sell your clothes on Poshmark or Depop or similar? Or maybe directly to your followers? :)
“I thought they’d be a good ‘wear with heels’ denim option, but spoiler - I never wear heels and, therefore, have never worn these” I almost gasped at how relatable that was for me 😂 why are we like this lmao
Sounds like I’m going to have big plans with my steamer this weekend! Thanks for the gentle reminder to put down the credit card and instead focus on taking care of the things you already own.
I love these tips to help promote less consumption! I always feel like Pinterest helps me when I want to go shopping- it's always to focus on what I want to buy but also, sometimes scratches the shopping itch!
So instead of the dopamine hit of online shopping, you’re encouraging me to take care of the clothes I already have? Madness.
(You’re right, per usual)
Haha - thank you Angela! x

Mm that's true... I'll try it out when school starts again and my mornings are more rushed!

I love using the Stylebook app to create outfits + save inspo! And then I try to recreate inspo as best I can with the stuff I already have.
It's such a good way to while away an evening isn't it x
