Anna! This is a brilliant idea. I really struggle with shoes. So advice for shoes / boots with types of jeans / trousers (especially wide trousers) coz my constant go too is always trainers!!!
Also do you think your do some suggestions on different price ranges - I love your style but Somtimes I’m like ooooh I wish there was an alternate slightly cheaper version of that!
Thank you so much for your question!! Love it! I too find a comfort zone with shoes and then just reach for the same ones all the time - and there's nothing wrong with that!
I try and balance it out. So if my trousers have a little more volume around the bottom I'd take that as the main standout of my bottom-half and go for a sleeker shoe - think a pointed toe boot or a sleek square-toed ballet flat. Whereas if something is slimmer in the leg it's almost like the outfit can take a bit of a bolder shoe, like a heavy Chelsea boot, or a patterned flat. I find it's just a simple rule that can help make an outfit 'click' when you feel like something is off.
Hi Anna, have to say I discovered your Instagram 6 months ago and love all your content! I became a mum 3 years ago and really struggled to find my style post birth so I have to thank you so much for your help. :)
I have a London wedding early November and I’m looking to rent a dress/outfit (I love using HURR or ByRotation and rented Rixo a lot in the past) i’m struggling however for inspiration for this autumnal wedding. I’m looking for something quite glam but also fun and modern. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks
I love this idea. I really like the row looks that JLaw has been rocking lately, but as a size UK14 with a much smaller budget wondering how I can pull the look off. Any recommendations?
I am SO with you on this! Her looks recently have been *Chef's kiss*!! I'd say that with a smaller budget is it allll about secondhand and so many of her pieces are timeless, classic pieces that should be quite easy to find on vinted.
Shoes - I feel like I see her in Sambas A LOT and she really makes me want a pair, but something classic like Converse and Vans would work too. Also a pair of ballet flats or a square-toe mary jane and a pointed toe boot too.
Accessories - black baseball cap, oversized tote bag, gold hoops and a gold chain.
This is such a great idea! I’m 33 and still haven’t found the perfect fitting jeans. I’m between a size 10/12 but usually a 12 in denim (depending on the brand). I love the straight leg look but I’m a 5’3 small waisted curvy babe 😅😆
I've been deep diving on vintage Levi's lately (secondhand.levi.com is a great place to start, but there are so many Etsy accounts out there). Be warned: vintage sizing is its own beast so research before ordering (and size up!).

I am obsessed with your Navy Raey oversized coat- the current option available on matches is linen blend- have you seen it is it the same as your wool blend one? Any other good dupes? I like the COS one but it’s black and I’d like a navy oversized wool coat, thank you :)
Oh that is weird, I've been to check mine and it's 95% wool, 3% polyamide, 1% silk and 1% elastane. This year's one is SUCH a different composition - 61% linen, 27% wool, 12% cotton. BIZARRE! I'd say go for another one - for that price I'd want waaaay more wool in it. Ok here's what I'm thinking...
Hi Anna! Late to the party! 5'10 and looking for a long olive/khaki trench or trench like fabric jacket? Similar shape to the reformation dani but longer?
Love this! I can’t wait to read through everyone’s questions. I’m currently trying to figure out how to maintain some semblance of my style while pregnant. As a denim girl the hardest part is creating outfits that work without tucking anything in.
Hi Lori!! Firstly CONGRATS!! And secondly I've been there!! Oh my gosh I feel you on the tucking in - I missed it so much! Dunagrees scratched my denim itch slightly, but one of the best things I did was get a really oversized comfy pair that saw me till about week 20 and then I wore them a load postpartum too. Do you follow Reva? https://troupe.substack.com She's pregnant and has been posting some great outfits on IG - definitely worth a follow. Hope this helps! xx
I love both pairs of your suede loafers from Arket, but I’m based in the US and they don’t ship here. Everything I’ve found so far that’s available to me has either a pointed toe or a chunky look, both things I don’t want. I’m looking to spend under $250 USD, any suggestions?
I'm a little nervous to share publicly 😂 but I would LOVE your advice! I don't have a link to the specific dress (it's a custom dress from AUS so I ordered it online - I'm insane!) and you can only really see the dress within that year's broader collection from the designer. Here's the link to the collection, it's the Vincent Slip Dress (with the slit in the back, no train) - link: https://www.lolavarma.com/gowns. I'm planning to wear some silk organza top during the ceremony and some Manolo flats throughout, but I have no idea what jewelry to wear or exactly the silk organza top I want. The dress feels very understated, refined and very "me" but I'm worried it's a bit dull on its own without jewelry. But then again I don't want anything to overpower the dress/me? I only wear yellow gold. I have no idea, Anna! I'm a mess, ha!
So sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this comment but WOW that dress is STUNNING! What a great choice. And with a flat Manolo!? Gorgeous. Love it so much! In terms of an organza top, would one of these work?
And for jewellery maybe a hoop or a drop earring?! Like you said you don't want something too overpowering, but just a little something. I feel like an earring can do that a bit easier than a necklace can seeing as the neckline is so delicate and beautiful anyway. I really like these....
oooh I love this! I always struggle with shoes in winter. I love wearing non-cropped straight legged jeans, however, I‘m very unsure of what shoes go well with this type of trousers. In summer, I opt for any sandal, but in winter?
Here’s my styling pickle: how do people do the sweater over the shoulders look? Is the sweater sized up? Super thin and drapey? Or could it be my shoulders are too wide and I am not a Pinterest model? When I try the look it feels like a necessity (I don’t want to carry my sweater) rather than a style choice.
Love the recurring post idea! I have another question but feel shy asking so I may email you. :-)
Hi Jessica - always feel free to drop me an email if you have a question - anna@theannaedit.com! And you know what this is the exact question that I asked Allison!!! She suggested that it was all about thickness. Turns out that the jumpers I had were just too thick and chunky to wear around the shoulders! So I got this ARKET one from the men's section - https://www.arket.com/en_gbp/men/knitwear/product.fine-knit-merino-jumper-blue.0490418012.html - and it's perfect!! Maybe try a slightly thinner knit texture? x
Oh no - sorry about that! I feel like J.Crew would do something similar, or Uniqlo? I've just ordered some men's Uniqlo jumpers actually so I'll let you know how I get on with those! x
Hi Emily! I've heard amazing things about this brand - https://duoboots.com/products/jeane-dark-brown-suede? - love that they do different calf sizes too! But for a more affordable version there is always M&S - can you get that where you are? https://www.marksandspencer.com/l/women/footwear/boots/fs5/wide-fit. They are always SO comfy! I get a lot of my shoes secondhand too and it's so handy because it means that most of the time someone else has worn them in for you so they are more comfortable! x
I’m looking my for a blazer, maybe a cropped jacket to wear with all black outfits when I don’t want to wear all black - if that makes sense?! For example I have the Albaray column maxi dress and to dress it up for work I need a jacket but a black blazer feels a bit funereal and it needs a bit of texture or something to take away from the fact it’s not the same black. Do I go camel? Or, opt for a cropped wool jacket or something patterned?
Oooooh Vicky I love this question! And thanks so much for including the dress as well, that was super helpful to see it! I know what you mean - sometimes a blazer can feel a little formula can't it?
Thanks Anna! The Cos jacket was one I was pondering and it keeps going out of stock but I think you might have nailed it with the Sezane Betty - I love it! Can think of so many ways to wear. Any tips on Sezane sizing?
The Betty is GORGEOUS! It’s next on my shopping list. Has such a classic feel to it and so many colours to choose from. I usually size up in sezane - especially in trousers. But for knitwear I’d go for a medium usually - that’s pretty true to size x
I feel like no one shares night out looks any more! I need some inspo. Specifically looking for 70s Bianca Jagger or Jane Birkin style looks.
Hi Erin! Thanks for the question!
Please tell me that you follow Allison Bornstein because she is the QUEEN of 70's style and loved a more elevated evening look. https://www.instagram.com/allisonbornstein6/?hl=en I'd also recommend checking out her threads because she shares lots of great inspiration pics there too - https://www.threads.net/@allisonbornstein6.
Hope this helps! xx
Yes I do! I guess I’m looking for stuff that’s a little bit more outgoing.

Hi Gemma - thanks for the question!
I am SO with you on this! Her looks recently have been *Chef's kiss*!! I'd say that with a smaller budget is it allll about secondhand and so many of her pieces are timeless, classic pieces that should be quite easy to find on vinted.
Coats - she's always wearing a simple trench like this one - https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/3643060834-hm-trench-coat?referrer=catalog.
Basics - some simple cashmere knits like these - https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/3643387820-cashmere-nude-light-brown-v-neck-jumper-unisex?referrer=catalog, https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/3644129378-ms-navy-100-cashmere-cardigan-size-14?referrer=catalog, https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/3627065967-100-cashmere-company-jumper-chocolate-brown-large?referrer=catalog along with a white crew neck t-shirt and a black one too.
Trousers - some vintage looking straight leg jeans - https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/3612904053-lovely-retro-jeans-by-arizona?referrer=catalog https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/3523333441-vintage-jeans?referrer=catalog, and some straight black trousers - I feel like Abercrombie do these really well.
Hope this helps! x
Perfect Anna, never even thought of vinted such a good shout.
This is such a great idea! I’m 33 and still haven’t found the perfect fitting jeans. I’m between a size 10/12 but usually a 12 in denim (depending on the brand). I love the straight leg look but I’m a 5’3 small waisted curvy babe 😅😆
Hi Julia - thanks for the question! Have you tried Abercrombie jeans?! https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/uk/womens-bottoms--1?facet=ads_f41502_ntk_cs%3A%28%28%22Jeans%22%29%29&filtered=true&rows=90&sort=bestmatch&start=0. I hear SUCH incredible things about them - especially from my small waisted mates! Love that they have so many different lengths and fits and they aren't *too* pricey either as they always have different promotions on.
Hope this helps! xx
Are others allowed chime in on
I've been deep diving on vintage Levi's lately (secondhand.levi.com is a great place to start, but there are so many Etsy accounts out there). Be warned: vintage sizing is its own beast so research before ordering (and size up!).
I'd also recommend tailoring! If your small waist seems to be the deal breaker with jeans you find and love, it's an easy fix to bring in the waist!
Of course love that! What a great recommendation xx
I am obsessed with your Navy Raey oversized coat- the current option available on matches is linen blend- have you seen it is it the same as your wool blend one? Any other good dupes? I like the COS one but it’s black and I’d like a navy oversized wool coat, thank you :)
Hi Emma - thanks for your question!

I *really* like these from Everlane and they are within budget - https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-italian-leather-day-loafer-black-suede?collection=womens-shoes.
These two are annoyingly over budget but I'm not sure if Emme Parsons ever do good Black Friday deals? https://www.emmeparsons.com/collections/loafers/products/spencer-in-caramel-suede orhttps://www.emmeparsons.com/collections/loafers/products/danielle-in-chocolate-suede.

oooh I love this! I always struggle with shoes in winter. I love wearing non-cropped straight legged jeans, however, I‘m very unsure of what shoes go well with this type of trousers. In summer, I opt for any sandal, but in winter?
I‘d love your opinion on this! xx
Hi Jana - thanks for your question! I'm the same!
Straight leg jeans that hit at the ankle are so easy to style in the summer with just a sandal, but I feel like in the winter they take a bit of work. Right now I'm wearing mine with either the flattered loafers - https://www.flattered.com/uk/all-shoes-/sandals/malva-suede-black - the square toe really works well with that leg length, or my ARKET suede loafers - https://www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/shoes/product.suede-loafers-brown.1202038002.html.
I think Allison Bornstein said that it's always nice to have a bit of foot skin on show and I stick to that rule and it seems to work for me. I find that it's more about the toe of the shoe too. Something slightly squared off can feel leg lengthening and a bit 90's, but rounded makes me feel a little off proportion-wise? So I guess for true winter a square toe is what we're looking for too! These look INCREDIBLE - https://www.jigsaw-online.com/products/kent-leather-boot-black?variant=44349166354598&istCompanyId=5cb36b28-3b54-4573-9793-5e46611a0358&istFeedId=862761a5-2bf0-4417-ab0a-7e46ee93302a&istItemId=lxqxaqptq&istBid=t&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkNOpBhBEEiwAb3MvvWlXN6wo5YKfEjbTqNkbba5bcTGgjo7Sp5O77ApNq2orBd72-PNm5xoCGqQQAvD_BwE x
thank you so much! this is super helpful and you‘re so right about the squared toes
Love this feature idea. Looking to refresh my Jean collection. I’m size 10 / hourglass figure so looking for some high waisted style recommendations.
Hi Maddy - thanks for your question! I hear amazing things about Abercrombie. I haven't tried them myself, but so many of my friends rave about them and the curve range are supposed to be the best - https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/uk/womens-bottoms--1?facet=ads_f41502_ntk_cs%3A%28%28%22Jeans%22%29%29&filtered=true&rows=90&sort=bestmatch&start=0. Lots of leg lengths too so should have you covered xx
Maybe try a slightly thinner knit texture? x
That makes so much sense! And dang you for linking Arket to someone across the pond. I wish they shipped stateside!
Oh no - sorry about that! I feel like J.Crew would do something similar, or Uniqlo? I've just ordered some men's Uniqlo jumpers actually so I'll let you know how I get on with those! x
Comfy boots that are actually comfy - for wide feet, please! And not too spenny 😂
I get a lot of my shoes secondhand too and it's so handy because it means that most of the time someone else has worn them in for you so they are more comfortable! x
The perfect denim shirt for a size 14-16 that I can buy in Canada, please! Seconded about the lower budget - if possible!
Love this idea, thanks Anna!
Hi Emily! Thanks for your question!
I've always thought The Frankie shop one looks great and feels like jacket-y as well so super versatile and it should be internationally available! https://www.mytheresa.com/gb/en/women/the-frankie-shop-dallas-oversized-denim-shirt-blue-p00828509?utm_source=sea_pla&utm_medium=google&utm_campaign=google_sea&ef_id=CjwKCAjwkNOpBhBEEiwAb3MvvcaXgkz2nP06_DtqGLzC2_kImZKss-UtWZCXDNMHqDk7Vn4Qb7vmyhoC6QMQAvD_BwE&chn=sea_shopping&src=google&cmp=17304731262&tarea=gb&tar=&ag=&ptyp=&feed_num=P00828509-3&gclid=CjwKCAjwkNOpBhBEEiwAb3MvvcaXgkz2nP06_DtqGLzC2_kImZKss-UtWZCXDNMHqDk7Vn4Qb7vmyhoC6QMQAvD_BwE:G:s&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkNOpBhBEEiwAb3MvvcaXgkz2nP06_DtqGLzC2_kImZKss-UtWZCXDNMHqDk7Vn4Qb7vmyhoC6QMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds. But for a more budget friendly version and a slightly darker wash try this one from HUSH - https://www.hush-uk.com/deanna-denim-shirt-authentic-blue-wash/009381-2908-8.html?fo_c=1586&fo_k=912662137218be245f91f1c1ac9ccc3d&fo_s=gplauk&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkNOpBhBEEiwAb3MvvcQ-WXnN7XEjWWdpHxCX3qXakk_ZlP2Zvmt9dpQl5Kupt7BGIpJy3RoCEO8QAvD_BwE. Plus I always think these are a great category to try and thrift and find secondhand - especially from the men's section! xx
Your thoughts?!
Thanks Anna x
Oooooh Vicky I love this question! And thanks so much for including the dress as well, that was super helpful to see it! I know what you mean - sometimes a blazer can feel a little formula can't it?
If it's more of a proper jacket you like the idea - I really like these two from ARKET - https://www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/jackets-coats/product.herringbone-peacoat-black.1209563001.html and https://www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/jackets-coats/product.chequered-wool-blend-jacket-brown.1032253002.html (I've been eyeing up this jacket for like a year now!). But my mind also went to the Sezane Betty cardigan that I think would look SO CHIC with that dress! https://www.sezane.com/en/product/betty-cardigan/hazelnut#size-XXS. And this COS jacket would work in a similar way too - https://www.cos.com/en_gbp/women/womenswear/coats-and-jackets/product.cropped-twill-jacket-blue.1141814004.html.
Hope this helps! xx
Fab! Thank you x rather like the hazelnut and the coffee, typically the latter is out of stock so I want it even more!
