Hi Anna! I lost my beloved ganni leopard print rain jacket which you recommended to me last year 😭 Do you have any other good rain coat recs that look chic but also practical for rainy days? Thanks!
Awwww that is gutting!! I'm cheating a bit by passing you on, but Melissa had SUCH a great Substack on that exact topic with so many good recommendations - https://substack.com/@melissaasquith/p-149654428. And apologies my reply is so late!
Recommendations for a 100% waterproof winter coat for dog walks and multiple hours spent a week on the side lines watching my boys play football. Trying to avoid purchasing a DryRobe. No set budget. Thank you xxx
Similar question: Live in very wet, snowy climate and children go to Forrest school so need boots and jacket that support it. I also don’t want to wear the same thing over and over again. I.e I am trying to have a uniform for weathers like 50-60; 60-68 or below 50 or below 40 etc. haven’t decided but as a fellow virgo trying to figure out this madness.
Hey Anna! I loved the rust coloured jumper from your recent NAP job but I can’t justify spending over £300 on a piece of knitwear at the moment 🙈 do you know of any similar but slightly cheaper wool/cashmere jumpers in that colour? Thank you very much!
Thanks for your question Aisling - an apologies I'm so late in getting back to you! I feel like the colour of this UNIQLO one - https://go.shopmy.us/p-8839113 in 36BROWN is very, very similar. I'd size up one size if you like it to be oversized xx
Thanks for your questions Julia (and sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you!).
- Good question. I feel like for winter accessories I stick to one of my three words so it all feels cohesive. So for example one of my words is classic, so my wooly hats and scarves feel quite plain and classic, just to make it easy. It's just the simpliest of my three words to tick off - I feel like polished and undone are more accents I add with jewellery and bags. So I'd work out what of your words is the easiest one to lean into for the category.
- For shoes. I just love a lace-up chelsea leather boot. They are such a staple and there are so many ways to style them - I'll have to do a post, although I've worn them this week already so you'll be able to see them in next week's Wardrobe Diary.
I’m thinking about treating myself to the St. Agni woven tote and would like to know how much you can fit in it before it gets too heavy? Is it also a good bag for travelling with? Thank you!
Ooooh good question Penny (and sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you!). In terms of travelling it's great - it's roomy enough if you're using it to travel with and if you're putting it in your bag it lies flat, so it's great for that. I can fit all my everyday London bits in - water bottle, laptop, purse, emergency little travel kit in - and although the straps are quite thin, so if it's the summer and I'm wearing a vest or something it can dig in a bit, it doesn't put me off wearing it. It's absolutely fine if my shoulders are covered.
Hi Anna, Feel like there’s a rainy day theme with a lot of these questions 😂☔️ I really struggle with shoes in the winter! So many summer shoes I love and barely any winter ones. Any ideas on some good options?
I feel like I am really struggling to find the best footwear to wear as we approach colder and wetter months! (as I am a huge sandal girl!) Also the best oufits/trousers to style them with. Thank you!
Oh Mel this is such a great question! I've got a post in the works on this exact topic - will bump it up to the top of the list to try and get this out for you ASAP! x
I’m looking for some dark brown suede loafers. I have a screenshot of a pair which I saw on Tik Tok that I love but I can’t find anything quite like them. Happy to share the screenshot!
Top end would be £300 but looking more to spend £150-£200. Thanks!
Hey Anna! I love the Donni pointelle top and trousers you got recently but I was wondering if you saw any more affordable alternatives? Any comfy and chic options would be great!
Thanks for the question Sarah and apologies it's taken so long for me to get back to you! Lots of people have recommended these from Uniqlo and they look so cosy! https://go.shopmy.us/p-8839333 & https://go.shopmy.us/p-8839334. Hope that helps! x
Hi Anna, I'm looking for some smart black heeled work shoes (to go with say long Cos wide-leg trousers) that I can also use with weekend outfits etc. I want something comfortable but sharp and modern too!
Anna, I’d love your favourite affordable yet decent quality knitwear suggestions! Vintage or secondhand takes so long to search for - am after a good price, a decent fabric makeup/quality but a nice style too
Thanks for your question Alice (and apologies it's taken me so long to reply!). I'm big, big, BIG on Uniqlo (someone did say they found two for £30 on Vinted the other day - so it might be worth focusing your energy on just that one search!). But personally I prefer the mens crew neck style as there's just a bit more ease built into them. Hope that helps! x
Thank you Anna! I’ve *just* ordered some of the Clare Waight Keller/Uniqlo cashmere which looks nice and oversized. Love the colours in the men’s range though, definitely adding to my saved Vinted searches. Thanks again x
Hi Anna! Looking for a dress for an intimate “cold weather cocktail” wedding I’m attending in Ireland! Seems like a great opportunity to find something chic that I could wear again and again but I’m stumped for ideas. What would you wear?
I recently moved back to Edinburgh after a decade in London and I had forgot about the rain…. combined with the wind it really makes itself know lol. I’m desperate for a waterproof coat that is warm (maybe lightly padded), full length - possibly in a neutral but also wouldn’t mind a a bit of non invasive colour (dusty pink, steel blue etc) to cheer up the darker months. Under £250 preferably. It’s a lot to ask I know but if you fancy the challenge I’d be very grateful 😊✌🏻

Not Anna but I love my coat from Elvine. They are a Swedish brand that make great simple water resistant coats with different levels of warmth. Some are more than £250 but truly they are so well made and mine has lasted so well. It still looks new despite the beating I put it through.

Agree - please include options with a hood!

Thanks for your question Gemma (and sorry it's taken me so long to get around to answering them!). I feel Uniqlo have some good practical, but chic options. I really like the look of this one because it's long, but not *too* long - https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E469912-000/00?colorDisplayCode=09&sizeDisplayCode=003. Plus the hood rolls into the collar when you're not using it. I'd also recommend picking up this - https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E469862-000/00?colorDisplayCode=09&sizeDisplayCode=003. It's such a handy piece of kit that you can literally fit in your pocket and put on for an extra layer of warmth under things x
Thanks for getting back and this definitely looks a good option, esp love the idea of the fitted jacket to wear underneath for additional warmth

I would also love to get help with this for very similar reasons!! Xx

Hi, I was having an online browse of Jigsaw last night and they have a lovely colour range of cashmere jumpers in 2 different browns - worth a look.
I’m still hunting for the perfect brown coat!
Gooooood question Melissa (and sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you!). I have a few on my radar:

Thank you!’
Hi Anna! Looking for trousers that are comfortable for home office days, fitted, no wide leg. Finding it very hard to find ! Thank you so much !
Thanks for your question Marina - and sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! Here are some options:
- A kick flare stretchy option - https://shopdonni.com/products/the-box-weave-stretch-kick-flare-in-espresso
- Not wide leg necessarily, but these look comfy - https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-jerssey-barrel-pant-black?collection=womens-pants-trousers
- Something a little more fitted, but still relaxed - https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-easy-straight-leg-chino-black?collection=womens-pants-trousers
Hope this helps! x
Hey Anna,
one general question: how to style autumn/winter accessoires (scarf, hat, etc.) so that they suit your 3 words? 🧣
one specific question: shoe options for wet cold weather and how to style them for different occasions?👢
Thanks for your questions Julia (and sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you!).

Same here! I’m in love with it. Do the straps hurt if it’s heavy? Does a small laptop fit?

(Not a fan of big chunky boots!) Thank you!
Thanks for your question Ellie and apologies it's taken a while for me to get round to answering! I do love a loafer. If they are leather and unless you're jumping through puddles I find that my feet don't end up soaked. I pop them with a sock and love how classic they feel. But perhaps it's worth investing in a slim-line boot? Perhaps something like this - https://www.johnlewis.com/flattered-larissa-leather-chelsea-boots-black/p112292557?size=EU38&s_ppc=2dx_mixed_fashion_BAU&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD2el1wJ8xRwB2YlyBfErt_LJDuok&gclid=Cj0KCQjw99e4BhDiARIsAISE7P-_jr_apxs4mxXNxsgEY6dd9lb753ljL6XI1PuBGlyQl7yM2RxYdrcaAlC7EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds?

Best online resources for figuring out my color analysis? I’m stumped!😩
I was completely stumped without a professional to be honest. The lady I used in person does online consultations too - https://joboydstyling.com x

I would have recommended the Massimo Dutti ones too, they are the best that I've found. Although if you don't mind a paler brown suede these ones from ZARA look nice - https://www.zara.com/uk/en/suede-loafers-p12524410.html?v1=370990942&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADqbk7bJqLCivWrHkb3TXzxlkU_a3&gclid=Cj0KCQjw99e4BhDiARIsAISE7P9SdAycAM9-kffG4hwb_kYwHuJqm_Ml8LLvBLWYAGoPkPf-tUd-2NIaAkZOEALw_wcB. If not try Vestiaire. I've just had a little look searching 'Brown Suede Loafers' and some good ones come up - https://www.vestiairecollective.com/search/?q=brown+suede+loafers. Hope that helps! x
Have you tried Massimo Dutti? These are the only ones that fit your requirements but they’ve been on my list a while https://www.massimodutti.com/gb/square-toe-split-suede-loafers-l11590350?pelement=42616678
Or maybe these if you’re in the US https://www.dolcevita.com/products/beny-flats-brown-suede
These are a tan suede rather than dark brown (which is also on my wish list!) but I like the shape: https://corelifestylestore.com.au/products/emilia-loafer-tan-suede
