Need “going out tops!” I’m a jeans girl and rarly feel comfortable in “dress up clothes” so looking for ideas to get a little fancier while still being comfortable/ authentic to my style.
Hi Oceana! Thanks for your question (and apologies for the late reply!). I did a post on this, but it was all the way back in June, so it’s probablt time for a re-do! https://theannaedit.substack.com/p/26-nice-tops-to-wear-with-jeans Some places that it’s worth checking out as they do this category really well:
- COS
- Massimo Dutti
- Reformation
- St Agni
I hope that helps, but I’ll definitely do more of a deep dive into this soon! x
Hi Anna! I’d love your recommendations for a baseball cap for winter. Do you ever wear them? I’m thinking something in a wool or cord material, maybe beige. It’s hard to find without slogans. Or if you don’t wear them, what’s your go to hat for cold weather? Thanks!
Hi, which socks would you ideally wear with your loafers, particularly your dark brown suede Arket ones? (Would love to know for your other loafers as well). Which colour, which type, thickness, material? Ta 😀
Hi Anna! I need help finding a dress for my first ever work Christmas party. I want something festive, but that I can still wear again and again (shopping responsibly here). I’m 27, so ideally not something that would make me look much older but still work appropriate. Could be short or full length, I’m 5’3 only, so petite friendly would be amazing. Thanks so much in advance!! ✨✨
Hi! Any recommendations for winter boots that are a bit more classy (maybe with a slight heel) and are incredibly comfortable for my wider feet? With prices below 400-500 please!
Ooooh let me pop something in the chat for you AC! I’m not the best with wide shoe recommendations, so I’m sure someone in there can help you out. I’ll pop in a question now! X
Any recommendations for a nice backpack that is suitable for the office (ideally under or around £200)? I love a nice tote, but they always seem to bother my shoulders!
I always loved the Whistles Verity backpack (although it’s now discontinued, so you have to trawl eBay for it - https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/bn_57338161). But that Tumi one looks great! I’m not well versed in backpacks so I’d definitely take Taylor’s advice on that one! X
Have to say I’m *thoroughly* impressed with my Tumi Voyageur backpack that I use for the office! It also works fantastic for travel, of course, but has lasted me 10+ years and I get compliments all the time
Not really a question, but I'd love to see a watch edit from you. I've noticed a lot of people switching from Apple watches to regular watches and I'd love to see a curation of ones you think are chic :)
Ooooh I would love to do this!! Thank you for the idea Katie - I’ll definitely pop that together soon. To quickly answer though, type ‘Vintage Seiko Womens Watch’ into Etsy and I’d happily take them all! x
I was wondering if you had any tips or ideas on how to style light wash jeans for Autumn/ Winter please? Or do I admit defeat and stick them in the spring / summer wardrobe to store pile 🤔
Thanks for your question Sinead (and apologies for the late response!). You know what I actually love my light wash jeans in the winter too. I find they pair really well with navy - it sort of winter-fies them a bit if you know what I mean. I chunk mine on with a navy jumper, black boots and a bit black wool coat and feel like it can still work. Hope that helps! x
Hi Anna! I’m looking for recommendations for a black blazer in the style of Anine Bing Quinn (with shoulder pads rather than relaxed cut for shoulders) but preferably at a slightly lower price point. Thanks so much ✨
Thanks for your question Deirdre (and apologies for the late response!). I plan to do a whole post on this! I’ll probably wear some knitted wide-leg trousers and an oversized jumper for comfort. There’s a whole knitwear edit for you here - https://www.shopltk.com/explore/theannaedit/posts/af7ded58-a1be-11ef-b440-0242ac11002c - with some of my favourite jumpers x

Hi 👋🏻 Just wanted to say, I’ve seen a lot of good things about Chord hats — love the colours and very minimal branding.
Ooooh good question (and apologies for my late reply!). I have to say I’m not much of a hat wearer, but I saw this one the other day and sceengrabbed it for you - https://alexeagle.com/products/the-alex-eagle-club-pilates - and I like this Mirror Water one too - https://mirrorwater.earth/products/the-mirror-water-cap?srsltid=AfmBOorQtfmi0kdjlru28PqSwzcIRAkqlrG4xVH8KkSpw9Lzi9_UKpzh. I’m just not much of a hat wearer and literally own one and it’s this! https://www.cos.com/en_gbp/women/accessories/hats-scarves-and-gloves/product.pure-cashmere-beanie-black.1248054001.html Hope that helps! x

Good question Maud (and apologies for the late reply!). I really love these - https://lebonshoppe.com/products/her-socks-mc-cotton-porcelain?_pos=1&_sid=9bb31d1d9&_ss=r - but if I wanted something longer I like this from MANGO too - https://shop.mango.com/gb/en/p/women/more-accessories/socks/ribbed-socks_87090421?c=08. I always think a ribbed sock looks great with loafers! Hope that helps x

I’m a little bit obsessed with this from ARKET - https://www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/dresses/mini-dresses/product.embellished-shift-dress-black.1253091001.html. So simple, with a bit of sparkle. If you needed it shorter that should be quite an easy alteration to make? And I love that you could wear it with a big chunky knit over it and turn it into a skirt too! Have fun at your party! X
Just want to say thank you for doing this! It’s a huge undertaking ❤️
Thank you Xue! Your comments are always so appreciated ❤️

And another one! Stylish boots that pull a work outfit together, but that I can traipse around London in without hurting my feet?
Ooooh good question Iris (and apologies for the late reply!). I find my Toteme Mid Heel City Boots come in really handy for this https://www.net-a-porter.com/en-gb/shop/product/toteme/shoes/ankle/plus-net-sustain-the-mid-heel-leather-ankle-boots/24772899113461061?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GOO%3ANAP%3AEU%3AGB%3AEX%3AENG%3ASEAU%3APLA%3ASLR%3AMXO%3ANEW%3AWN%3ATOTEME%3ALV0%3ALV1%3ALV2%3AXXX%3A11%3AEMPTY%3A&utm_id=20070270687&utm_term=3074457345622240056&vtp00=GOOGLE&vtp01=SEAU&vtp02=151722496514&vtp03=pla-1200218145093&vtp04=g&vtp05=c&vtp06=657173511972&vtp07=pla&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADRhZnsasDzj4Y_8OkoZf7iCMe8dR&gclid=Cj0KCQiAo5u6BhDJARIsAAVoDWuV4MDsRVFAa4A3jWPA7az5MJl3XGbCF0IfhFWUOGxnqSqB9vUbtT4aAvaGEALw_wcB, but Reformation do a good dupe (that’s currenty one sale) - https://www.thereformation.com/products/roberta-ankle-boot/1314083BCL.html?dwvar_1314083BCL_color=BCL. The heel is super low so I feel like I can do some serious steps in them. I hope that helps! x
No style question this month for me but I would love to see a styling video for your new Coach bag please!
Now this I can do!! Thank you Penny! I’ve popped it on the list x

Thanks for your question Lynn (and apologies for the late response!). Have you seen this? https://www.wearetala.com/collections/blazers/products/everyday-tailoring-multiway-oversized-blazer-black?_pos=1&_fid=233d63c25&_ss=c It feels like it had a similar shape with the exaggerated shoulders. I hope that helps! x
Thanks so much Anna! x
Hi Anna! Any recommendations for a similar pair of boots to your lace up Dear Frances ankle boots? Thank you!
These look very similar actually - https://penelopechilvers.com/products/bartholomew-leather-boot-black?utm_source=aw&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=176013%7CRedbrain-&utm_content=Comparison+Shopping+Service+%28CSS%29&sv1=affiliate&sv_campaign_id=176013&awc=25353_1732777096_6d09814558cdb70a5b1ba508b1f74b0e - not too chunky! And I love the simplicity of these - https://www.camper.com/en_GB/women/shoes/iman/camper-iman-K400300-006?size=41&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmwPQ_kAioBdwRnopkkLc0SEzouc&gclid=Cj0KCQiAo5u6BhDJARIsAAVoDWv-VGxYPBu6pI97BivLIC8R4ZJMtKY-YZx1qhDQLzlXXbgjM9DmfJ8aAlirEALw_wcB. So gutted that Dear Frances discontinued them! x
Thank you! They look great 😊
Hi Anna,
I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a Christmas Day outfit ? I would like a comfortable, cosy outfit but stylish too.
I keep thinking about a cosy knit and jeans. Would you have any links for nice knitwear?
Thanks for your question Deirdre (and apologies for the late response!). I plan to do a whole post on this! I’ll probably wear some knitted wide-leg trousers and an oversized jumper for comfort. Hi Anna, I am looking for a beige/cream cable knit jumper. Im in the UK and would ideally like something less than £200. Thank you.

Try & Daughter, Cos, Arket and Vinted have lots of lovely second hand ones!
Hello Anna,
First of all, I really love your newsletter!
I’m looking for a Christmas eve outfit that is festive but doesn’t scream Christmas. I really like the sweater and slip skirt combo but I’m not sure how to pull it off without looking frumpy in (sitting down) pictures and like I’m just wearing a sweater :) I like the idea of tone on tone, navy or burgundy. I’m 5’3” size S/M. What do you think?
Hi Maria! Thanks for your question (and apologies for the late reply!). I’ve been thinking about this too and I think I’m going to do a whole post on it! I’d say that sounds like a lovely outfit idea - and nice and comfy too - perhaps you can dress it up a bit on the top half with a red lip or some statement earrings. I know what you mean - just something that’s a bit ‘wow’ for when you’re sitting down. I hope that helps! x
