MONDAY
On Monday, I was in full-on packing mode for a trip to New York with one of my favourite beauty brands - GLOSSIER!!! I filmed the whole thing for my YouTube channel, and the video will go live tomorrow morning (9 a.m. Sundays are my usual upload time if you’re new to my *schedule*). So the outfit brief was: comfy. A cardigan added a bit more interest than my usual crew-neck knit, and I have to say that these DONNI trousers* are everything I wanted them to be and more (you can see a full try-of my DONNI mini haul here*). They are basically pyjamas, but there’s something about the cut that means when you throw on a semi-formal shoe with them, they feel ‘enough’ for an outside outfit, too. My chill day and travel outfits this week have been very DONNI-inspired.
TUESDAY
Did I make a bit of an error on Tuesday wearing jeans for an international flight? Kinda. It made me realise that I don’t really have a designated ‘nice’ tracksuit for outside wear as all the ones I own are ones I wear for around the house and are fraying at the sleeves and splattered with various oil and food stains. NICE. I did make a trip to the Buck Mason* store when I got to New York to rectify that (more coming on that in mega NYC shopping guide newsletter I’m putting together for you!!). Still, I loved the outfit, perhaps just not for travel - brown pointelle long-sleeve + relaxed blue jeans + black loafers + grey chunky v-neck knit + leopard print bag. It felt like a relaxed formula to reach for at the weekend with the boys.
We had some free time once we arrived, so I just switched out my top for a fresh black t-shirt and took myself off on a wander. For dinner, we all rallied despite being up for over 24 hours, so I wanted an outfit that felt a little more than I’d usually wear, but something that still felt within my usual uniforms. My new COS shirt* travelled well and didn’t end up too creased (the ‘lay clothing in your suitcase’ trick works like a charm!), and my vintage Loewe bag (bought from The Hosta) added a bit of polish.
