MONDAY
Casting my mind back to last Monday feels like an absolute LIFETIME ago. But the sun was shining, and my bags were packed as we headed to Brownsea Island off the coast of Poole to celebrate all things Christmas with Waitrose. If there had been a competition to consume your body weight in mince pies, then I would have completely smashed that leaderboard. I wanted an outfit that felt casual but still pulled together whilst having a bit more of an outdoorsy nod than usual, and I was very pleased to rediscover this Toteme coat in my wardrobe* - it got a lot of use this week! There’s a great dupe here*.
For the evening - a more formal dinner, where the dress code was ‘festive, but relaxed’, and actually I felt just right in what I chose - a silk brown shirt + flared black trousers + a small heel + a leopard print bag. Perfect for disguising ‘Day 1’ cycle bloat (+ all the mince pies).
TUESDAY
We packed light. Extremely light thanks to the Away Overnight Bag*. Mine is pretty old, so I wasn’t sure if they still made it, but they do, and it’s just the right size for a one-night trip if you’re happy to be more on the edited side of packing (the whole site is currently 25% off and I’m very tempted by ‘The Weekender’* for a slightly longer trip - I LOVE luggage). For my outfit, I wore the same thing for the journey home; I just swapped out the top underneath for a fresh one. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. You can see our vlog from the trip here - it’s cute and will get you in the Christmas mood…
