Loving your content! It’s been so helpful.

Indyx has made me realise the power of accessories in changing up an outfit’s vibe - would you be up for doing an accessories deep dive? Shoes, bags, jewellery… how do you build a collection that’s diverse enough to give you options? Especially for shoes and bags, I’ve realised mine are all the same ‘vibe’

Would also love to understand how you think about colors when buying shoes and bags?! I’ve realized all of mine are white and black and gold because I think those are most versatile in matching to clothes. But I’m trying now to look for more tibi ring 3 color options. A shopping list would be fab!

Xue this comment is GOLD! Thank you! I feel like I have SO MUCH to say in response, so you're right, it's definitely a post. I've added it to my list and scheduled in a slot to write this next week because I've totally been there with every shoe and bag feeling like the same. So thank you so much for this. Post coming soon! x

Hi Jelly! Thank you so much!! Yes I can definitely do this! Are you thinking more of a mid-blue wash, or a lighter-blue wash? I have ideas for both! Will pop in some time in the schedule to shoot this for you xx

Lighter blue as I went overboard this summer and find it harder to style for cooler weather, but mid blue is good too although easier due to the colour being darker already. Thanks lovely!

Hi Anna! Thanks so much for doing this! I have more of a general styling question. I have been loving waistcoats/vests for summer and would love some ideas on how to wear them in colder weather. I work in a business casual environment and would love to incorporate them all year long. Thank you!!

Yes this! How are we going to extend the life of our long line waistcoats/vests when the weather cools off?

Hi Madeline - thanks so much for your comment! I guess you've got two ways - you could either pop something underneath or do something over the top. For underneath I've found that I prefer it when I layer something in a similar colour - so a tight long sleeve almost thermal layer in a brown, with a black waistcoat. I've tried it with white and it just felt too contrasty for me - but play around! A thin turtleneck might be a nice idea too - perhaps in the same colour as the waistcoat? If you have somehthing longer line then I layer jumpers over the top, so you get a bit of a waistcoat peeping out from the bottom - so my MANGO brown longline one, with a black trouser and a greay cashmere crew neck over the top. I hope that helps! x

Two great ideas! Can’t wait to play around with it. Thanks so much!

Hi Anna, my wardrobe is in serious need of an upgrade after being neglected over the past 4 years due to having two small children! I’m ready to start upgrading it now but have limited funds - how would you suggest approaching it? What should I prioritise first? Do I just start with the basics? Feeling super overwhelmed!

I am a 33 year old mama. I have always loved fashion and all through high school and after, loved putting together outfits and expressing myself with fun pieces and accessories. Now that I am a mom, it feels frivolous to dress nice. Like who do I think I am? Maybe it is that I do not want attention on me anymore? Or I think “I am a mother, it’s not about me anymore”. Can you speak to this feeling at all? Thank you!!

Hi Carly, Thank you so much for your question! This is genuinely something I think about every single day!! Usually in the shower when I'm daydreaming and have a whole 'WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?' deep moment!! So you are totally not alone in feeling this way. The way that I try to make sense of it all is that feeling good in what I'm wearing does that... it makes me feel good (and I love to make other people feel good about what they are wearing, too - hence why I do this!!). To some, it might seem frivolous, but I feel like with parenting, it's all about collecting these small wins. And some days are just downright TOUGH. If wearing something nice helps me to feel 1% better about myself and improve my mood then I'll take it! Small wins!! x

Hey Anna, love your Substack and thanks for the AMA! What’s your take on where jewellery trends are going? Feels like silver and more sculptural shapes are on the horizon. As someone who’s invested more in gold pieces over the last few years, what are you recommendations for demi-fine and more statement pieces? I love the way jewellery finishes an outfit.

Hi KT! Thanks so much for your question! I feel the same as you - sculptural, big and statement is having a moment! And silver too! Although I will always be a gold girl at heart, so I'm not sure I'm ready to give a nod to that trend yet! I'll pop some of my favourite brands for more sculptural pieces here for you:

Hi Anna, absolutely love your style. Wondering if you would consider doing a ‘ways to wear’ segment that focuses on different ways to wear a key piece… e.g. 4 ways to wear a Breton top. I buy recommended pieces but find it hard to get creative with them in my wardrobe.

Thanks, Anna—I appreciate this more than you know!! I’m mentally struggling with investing so much time into digitally cataloguing my wardrobe on Indyx only to have that thought looming in the back of my head that I’ll likely soon only be able to fit into 1/5th of it again 🫠 But the idea of investing into some pieces that could “expand” not only with a pregnancy but also my wardrobe over time would be fantastic to learn and help me come to grips with the impending change ❤️ Can’t wait to read your thoughts on this!!

Hi Sash! Trust me I am on the HUNT for a dupe, although I haven't found anything really solid yet. I'm sure there will be more options out there once the AW really kicks in! In terms of comfort I *thought* they were good then I wore them two days in a row and got a bad blister on the back of one of my heels. But this week I've worn them two days in a row (8k step days both days) and been fine. So I'd say they take a bit of breaking in, but they are getting there! x

Hiiii Anna! I hope your week is going well so far! I am having a minuscule panic re going to the Eras Tour this month. I'm not a sequins girly and I don't want to buy anything that I'll never wear again purely for the sake of feeling like I 'belong' amidst a sea of sequin mini skirts and cowboy boots. Hi Lauren!! How exciting! Oh this would make me panic too and is definitely not my forte! I love that post from Caroline that Jessica sent you and I would suggest something similar to one of the outfits she shared there. Flat shoes for sure - if you have a comfy boot or Converse and then I think I'd go for something mini if you feel comfortable as you're going to be hot! Perhaps a black mini skirt and black t-shirt, or a black or white mini dress if you have one (I'd wear one of my linen ones), then make it feel more polished with your favourite jewellery. Hope you have a great time! x

Hi Anna and The Wardrobe Edit Community! This might be obvious - I love the slouchy/baggy pant look (linen, denim, cotton, you name it!) but how do I prevent the hems from getting dirty and frayed? I also feel like I'm tripping over myself and I need to hold my pants when walking, which is not a great look. I've used my quick stitch gun, which helps, but then I lose the baggy look...

What’s worked for me is getting my trousers tailored! You go wearing the shoes you’re likely to be wearing the trousers with, and they’ll measure it out so they’re just above the floor by your heel and then around to the front of your foot as well. I think you could do something similar with your quick stitch gun but you would need someone else to do the measuring for you.
