Thanks for sharing these stats, Anna! I started using the same app when you first mentioned it ages ago. Our color wheels are so similar!
Two questions:
1. Are you creating a flat lay of each outfit in the app or just marking each item as an “unscheduled” wear under details?
2. Are all of your outfits things you’ve actually put together and worn? I have loads of outfit ideas in mine, but have worn maybe a quarter of them. The result is me being overwhelmed when I’m browsing for a look for the day.
And in answer to your questions - yes I do a flat lay of each outfit everyday. Only takes me a minute or so to make it and I just love the satisfaction of seeing it all completed in the calendar view!
I don’t actually use the function of creating look books and outfit ideas. I did when I first started but then I ended up just deleting them all as I never wore them. Mainly because it’s just so different creating a flat lay compared to what the outfit feels like in real life. I have much better success when I have a little try on session and bank the photos on my phone.
Hi Anna Thankyou for the insight! I first downloaded Whering on your recommendation when you were digitising your winter 2023 wardrobe i suppose and you posted a video on YouTube which is almost a year ago. So suffice to say I have managed to digitise my own wardrobe for a year albeit on and off, but the satisfaction of seeing the calendar filled out with all the planned outfits is unmatched.
P.S some if the statistics Whering gave me was that I’m wearing 78% of my wardrobe which I plan to increase in 2024.
My go to colours have been Black, Ecru and Bordeaux.
Wishing you and the family a very happy and blessed 2024!😊
Your TikToks about Whering got me to start tracking my wardrobe from 1 August, and I love being able to look back at what I’m actually wearing. The wardrobe usage percentage is super motivational to dig out things I might have forgotten about and decide whether to wear or donate them!
Thanks Emily! On the days I wear sweats I still track them - I own three tracksuits and have them logged on whering as quite often they bled into my everyday wardrobe! And yes I track shoes too!
And isn’t the price of the Loewe just mad?! Greatful that I bought it seven years ago now so it was nowhere near that price, but I feel like the only way to buy it now would be secondhand! X
I love the idea of tracking my wardrobe for an entire year to see what I’m wearing and what gets passed over. I have had a year of big body changes (hello pregnancy and postpartum!) which has translated into big shopping (not something I usually do). I’m excited to get back to being a bit more intentional in 2024, and I might make wardrobe tracking part of that. Thanks for this great post!
Thank you so much for your comment Holly! And huge congrats ❤️ Don’t be too hard on yourself. In the two years since I’ve had my little one I’ve shopped more than I have in my life! But chalk it up to retail therapy (literally), body changes and finding this new version of myself! It takes time. But I agree - our 2024 buying can be waaay more intentional - we can do it! Xx
Love this! Wanted to say thanks for the AB book tip - I’m really enjoying it, I think it’s the best style book I’ve ever read. Going to try the exercises today seeing as it’s chucking it down.
What a commitment and love the tracking and insights. Curious if you could add more of a layer - how your day was when you wore. And then know if you want to feel confident put on X item for a big meeting or something like that.
Ooooh that would be good!! You can add notes in Whering, but there would be no way to collate it or analyse it - maybe a good thing for a Notion template!? I'll get my thinking cap on x
This is very cool! How long does it take you to log the outfits? And I imagine if I was tracking my outfits, I would be more adventurous! Had a style blog from 2009 so this resonates with that part of me!
Thanks for reading! I would say it takes me less than a minute everyday to log it. Super quick. Seeing it up took me ages - like a whole week of evenings! That’s what takes the time! X

I feel you on the colour wheel Jessica 😂

Anna I loved this and spent the afternoon downloading Whering!
Can I ask - what do you do on the days you just stay in sweats? Do you still track that? Do you also do shoes?
I have only done a few shoes and had 130 items - although it definitely made me realise I could sell a few!
I’ve also just bought Alison’s book...!
Thank you! Can’t wait to track!
I really want the Loewe but just can’t justify £2.3k 😭

Also sorry do you create an “outfit” board each day, or just click the items?
Yes I do - I create a board everyday x
I just downloaded the app and spent the last few hours adding my wardrobe pieces. This is a game changer and am so excited to use it in 2024!
Oh I’m so close Tracy - keep us updated with how you get on! X
I am immediately going to download this app and start tracking! I am a total data nerd and finding the details of my cost per wear fascinates me!!
Oh you’re going to LOVE it Kelly! X

You are so welcome Vicky! It's so great and so beautifully photographed too. A rainy day styling session is exactly what today needs. Enjoy! x
Wow I love this. I need to get this app to help my Rule of Five gang
Loved this, thank you for sharing. Has anyone tried the mood board option to inspire outfit choices?
I sometimes to if I'm bored of doom scrolling and what to do something else on my phone!! x
I’ve been tracking what I wear for just over 4 months now and this post has really spurred me to carry on!
As you say, there are no surprises as I look at it every day but to get all the data is just amazing!
It’s really helped me realise what I do and don’t wear.
Thanks for doing this post as I’ve been really excited to see what your top worn items were. I think I’m going to do a similar post 😂

I want to start using Notion for organizing my notes for substack. Any suggestions you’ve found helpful for using?
To buy a template! I found some on Etsy! I personally found programming it myself waaaaay too confusing xx
Exploring today!! Very cool
I've used Whering sporadically for the past season but this motivates me to be more consistent!
This app is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
You’re so welcome! X
