I’ve got a Substack ‘to-write’ list as long as my Vinted favourited items, but I thought seeing as it’s the final day of the year I’ll round it out with this 2023 round-up. This time round it’s YOUR most purchased pieces. So I’ve collated all the data from my affiliate platform to see what you’ve been buying the most over the past 12 months (and I’m pleased to report that they are things that I’ve really enjoyed wearing too!).
This purpose of this post is two-fold. Really it’s just fun to be nosy sometimes, right!? I’ve really enjoyed looking at other creators on here put together similar lists - it’s interesting to see the trends and items that people were genuinely adding to their wardrobes. But also given that so many of you now have these items in your wardrobe, I thought I’d rake through my camera archive and find some OOTD’s of me wearing them, just on the off chance it gives you some styling ideas. I hope it’s a helpful tool too!
As a thank you for your support, paid subscribers will get access to the full 10 item list. I am FLOORED by the amount of you that are here now. Yesterday was such a huge subscription day for me so THANK YOU FOR THAT!! My phone was pinging off all day so if you’re new - HELLO!! I hope you like what you see and there will be plenty more to come in 2024. I’m trying to re-jig my schedule so I can have more time to write on here because I’ve loved just typing away on my laptop this Christmas break and having some time to water it more than I usually do. Watch this space and thank you again!
#10 DISSH Bobby Pearl Satin Skirt*
2023 was the year that I discovered DISSH and they became my go-to place to hunt for dresses and skirts, which are notoriously ignored categories in my wardrobe. There’s nothing particularly special about this one - dupes dupe it well, but I do like the tie-waist as it means you can cinch in the waist if needed and it gives the waistband some interest. Of course this is more of a summer piece, but it works for winter too when paired with a knee high boot underneath. I’ve tried on similar styles in black and always feel like a witch, so if you feel the same - give the cream a go.
#9 ARKET Fine Knit Merino Jumper*
From one of my Allison Bornstein sessions we realised that I was lacking a thin, relaxed fit but not particularly oversized black knit jumper. Not cashmere and not chunky, something lighter that could work as more of a year-round piece. Then I found this when I was shopping with Mark in the mens section and we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since. I’d say that even now it’s cooler I still reach for this on an almost weekly basis. A thin knit merino wool jumper is a great investment - and quite easy to find preloved too.
#8 Uniqlo 100% Cashmere Jumper*
You know when you make a purchase and you just have a feeling that you made a good one and that in a few year’s time you’ll look back and still think it was a cracking idea. These jumpers are those. From the men’s section AGAIN - I could happily buy ALL my knitwear from there - deliciously soft and surprisingly hardy (these have washed well). For my neutral palette I know own crew neck jumpers in a dark cool brown, a caramel brown and cream (and then in grey from another brand and the previously mentioned black thinner jumper - I’ve got all bases covered).
#7 COS Oversized Round Neck Coat*
This is a newer entry as I only got this coat a month or two ago, but that’s how much you’ve been loving it too. Already this winter it’s becoming the one I grab over all the others. It goes with everything and the flat, matte texture just looks so chic (my previous black coat in this cut was slightly more fluffy and it just didn’t give the same vibe). There’s not an outfit that this doesn’t with - whether I’m wearing dungarees and trainers, or dressing it up with pointy boots and wide leg trousers for a meeting in London.
#6 MANGO Fine Knit Waistcoat*
I bet you thought this one would be number one, right!? I don’t think I’ve ever had so many ‘I BOUGHT IT TOO’ responses to anything I’ve ever posted and I truly hoped you’ve loved it as much as I do. The wear I got out of this in the summer!! It would come out the wash, go straight back on a hanger and then I’d be wearing it again immediately. The top left image feels very ‘me this summer’ and it’s one of those pieces that I’m excited to dig out again already. It’s nothing fancy, but the colour, the cut, the garment itself just added so much versatility to everything that I already owned. Gotta love the matching set too.
