What's In My Erm.... Underwear Drawer?!

Ok, hear me out...

Over the past year or two I’ve honed in my underwear choices. My drawer is organised, it’s easy to grab what I need in the mornings and most importantly, I’m never restricted by what I can wear for the day by what is or isn’t in my underwear drawer. I’ve got nude bases, practical fits and no VPL choices by the bucketload. But need a bit of lace to peep out from under a shirt?! I have that too! It’s the foundation of your wardrobe…

Ok here’s how we roll:

There are two moods: practical (think seam-free no VPL vibes - to be honest what I wear most days) and lacy (a little sexy, maybe you want to make a bit of a statement, bra strap on show etc)…

Now there are no rules - who cares if your underwear is matching!? However, I do find that it just makes me feel good if one - I’m wearing the same colour of bra and pants, and two - they are in the same category (practical bra + practical pant). So I’ve purchased enough of each to make that a thing I can achieve each day. Who knows why I feel the need to share these two facts with the internet?! But it just feels like a good start every morning - a good base to work from, you know? Anyone else the same!?

PRACTICAL

Skims Fits Everybody Bralette* - I own a handful in black and a handful in my skintone for a nude option. You just can’t argue that SKIMS do simple, everyday underwear basics really well. This is like my t-shirt bra option, and to be honest the one I reach for the most. I’ve had mine since they launched and they are still going strong (I don’t do anything fancy with any of my underwear, I stick it all on a 40 wash and then tumble dry it after).

Underdays Everyday Thong* (I’m pretty sure that link gives you 20% off) - I used to be into the Skims Everybody Thong* - and I still own a handful in my nude as Underdays only do the style I like in white and black - but the gusset wasn’t well… wide enough. HA! And I find that they loose their shape over time and become very baggy and just don’t cover what they need to. I picked up a few from Underdays over Christmas and have since made another order because they are SO comfy, but also a GREAT fit. These were the whole catalyst to this newsletter because I feel that strongly about them.

Chantelle Soft Strech Vest* - Some days I don’t fancy a bra, or sometimes I do and I just need an extra layer because it’s chilly - that’s where this comes in. I think I’ve owned them for about four years and they’ve washed fab, are something that I wear a tonne in the winter and just feel like a very practical piece in my wardrobe.

LACY

Hanky Panky Stretch-Lace Soft Bra Cup* (currently 40% off) - This is my favourite bra to wear - it makes me feel incredible. It doesn’t do anything in the sculpting or push-up department - which if you haven’t gathered by now I don’t really care about because I have nothing to scoop up anyway (sorry these are itty bitty titty recommendations only). A silk shirt, with this peaking out underneath?! Heavenly. I own a few in the black and a handful in my nude.

Hanky Panky Stretch-Lace Thongs (again currently 40% off) - I’ve had mine for years and they are the balance of making you feel sexy, but actually being comfy at the same time. The set together are my perfect underwear set - it doesn’t get better than that.

SOCKS

Now these aren’t necessarily part of the undergarment structure, but a few years ago I ridded my wardrobe of my holey socks (honestly most had holes in them!), and treated myself to socks I’d actually feel proud to wear. I’d never seen them as a valuable purchase, but DAMN! These socks have stood the test of time - why didn’t I do it sooner!?! My sock brand of choice is Le Bon Shoppe. I’d recommend their Her style* - great colours and good short-sock choice - or their Trousers socks for a more everyday longer sock.

Not exactly what I thought I’d be writing about when I sat down at my laptop today - but hey, maybe it was helpful!? If not for recommendations, maybe it’s encouragement to have a little sort through of your underwear drawer? Oh these* come in GREAT for that.
