Weekly Wishlist #2
The best cashmere on the high-street, the denim jumpsuit that I'm *this close* to adding to my wardrobe and the bag that can see you through every season...
I cannot thank you enough for the fact that I now have an excuse to scroll all my favourite online shops basically daily, as it’s now part of my *J~O~B*. You have truly made my wildest dreams come true. THANK YOU! I take my role extremely seriously and spend the week adding anything that tickles my pickle to my reading list and then spend Thursday’s editing it down to the top top 10 so I can guarantee that everything here is truly the cream of the crop. And with autumn in full swing, I feel like there are some real classics here…
As always free subscribers will be able to preview the first five items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full 10 piece edit every week and have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Monday. See you then!
Jigsaw Tailored Denim Jumpsuit* (I usually take a 12 in their jumpsuits for a slightly oversized fit)
I saw this on Angie Smith’s weekly Substack and I added it to my list immediately. Jigsaw are just known for doing really great jumpsuits at this point (all the rest are in the sale* actually!), and as a new-found lover of indigo denim this one ticks all the boxes. If you’re between sizes I’d probably size up as a slightly oversized fit is not a bit chicer in my eyes, but also more comfortable. I really like how it’s styled here, but imagine throwing on a camel coat and a big black leather bag with it? Stunning.
ARKET Cashmere Cardigan* (I wear it in a M)
Here’s the thing with ARKET cashmere - it’s good and it sells out quickly. By true winter it’s all sold out and doesn’t tend to make a reappearance till the following year. So when I saw that this was in stock I POUNCED as it’s literally been on my wishlist for 12 months. Of course I would love the KHAITE version* but this is my compromise (and less than a 10th of the price!). Whilst I have you allow me to de-influence you as there is one piece from ARKET’s cashmere range that I don’t rate - their cashmere roll-necks*. I find them to come up a bit short and they have massive slits up the side which would just leave you a bit cold, right? I wasn’t wowed and returned the black and the grey one that I’d ordered.
Just throwing this one in there because you if read my Weekly Wardrobe Diary posts you will know that I wear my Andersons belt* about three or four days a week. It’s a true workhorse in my wardrobe and well worth the spend, but if you are looking for a dupe this one is so similar - just with that added double gold loop detail that I actually love - and it’s half the price. In terms of sizing with belts I’d always stick with a true to size fit as you want it snug without too much overhang and holes not in use.
Jigsaw Wool Maxi City Coat* (I would order this in a 12)
Another Jigsaw pick, but when I saw this I instantly added it to the list because it’s such a solid coat that you’d wear time and time again, winter after winter. It’s 100% wool so it ticks that box and comes in some really nice colours - I’d personally go for the camel or the black, but they do a nice navy and also a rich chocolatey burgundy too which we all know by now is THE COLOUR of the season. It’s got that Toteme vibe about it which is always a winner in my book. This with an all black outfit underneath? SIGN ME UP.
The Frankie Shop Gelso Pleated Straight-Leg Pants*
I mean these are truly back-to-school vibes, but I think the way to keep them from looking like a school uniform is to avoid wearing them with navy (that was my school uniform colours so it’s giving me flashbacks!). Instead I think I’d go with an all-grey outfit which isn’t something I’ve really done before, but was alllll over my autumn moodboards, or maybe with a deep brown chunky knit? Basically nothing that feels too jersey sweatshirt-y and instead adds texture and shape. Or perhaps a safer bet is the black version*? I’ll report back on this one because I feel like they could add A LOT of options to my wardrobe.
