Weekly Wishlist #14
The zebra print belt dupe, the cashmere dress that's a little sexy and the everyday jean edit...
It’s time to put our feet up. Trust me, there’s already something hanging in your wardrobe for any New Year’s Eve plans you have, and you can easily cobble something together for Christmas Day from what you already own. So there isn’t too much party flavour going on in this week’s round-up. Instead I’ve focused more on dupes, or just general winter buys that might help jazz up your rails from the grim January to March slog we have coming up. Or just take some styling ideas from the pictures here and my ‘sandwich filling’ theory. It’s time to chill…
As always free subscribers will be able to preview the first five items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full 10 piece edit every week and have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Sezane Léocadie Jumpsuit (I’d order this in a M)
A MERINO WOOL JUMPSUIT!? I have never seen such a thing, and have never seen a more crimbo-limbo appropriate outfit. Like how good would it be to spend next week just lounging in this and watching crap TV and eating Quality Streets!? What a dream!? Sadly delivery-wise that’s not going to happen, BUT I’ve included it in this round-up anyway because it’s basically the ultimate piece of loungewear I’ve seen this year, but is a great WFH option too because you’re rocking smart casual on the top half and the bottom half at the same time. I’d dress it up for outdoors with a pointed black boot, a black wool coat and a massive oversized scarf.
ARKET Crinkle Satin Trousers* (I’d order these in a 38 and 40 to see what fitted best)
I know these feel like a bit of a festive pick, but I feel like these could be the winter version of my ARKET silk wide leg trousers that I wear for basically every season of the year except winter. I love them so much I’ve had them tailored because I can’t bear to be without them! So could these be the winter appropriate version? They look a little thicker, have a belt loop (yay!), and have a small slit up at the back which I feel gives them a real Toteme-like vibe. They look chic! Especially how they are styled here. I’d wear them exactly like this.
& Other Stories Belted Wool Mini Skirt* (I’d order this in a 38)
Throwing this pick in here because it’s very similar to my DISSH skirt that I have - but basically half the price and a very similar composition. I’d say it’s a little longer, however the DISSH one is a skort-style with shorts added in underneath, but it does have belt loops which is actually quite hard to find on a skirt and is a real must-have for me. It’s reminded me that I need to get some more wear out of my skirt - in fact I’m going to find a way to wear it today because with tights and a knee high boots it’s a LOOK.
Everlane Oversized Corduroy Shirt Jacket* (I’d order this in a M)
I’m all about the ‘filling’ layers right now. Think of your outfit like a sandwich - the coat and the under layer are the bread. Say, an oversized floor-length wool coat and a crew neck cashmere jumper. Those are the basics and you could easily just wear those - maybe with a vest underneath if it’s super cold - but adding in a filling with not only provide you with an extra later of warmth, but also some added interest, texture and will still keep you toasty once you’ve removed your coat at your destination. This cord jacket is such a good ‘filling’. I love the cord and the colour would fit so easily into my wardrobe. But next time you’re feeling like your outfit is a bit ‘meh’ - try adding a filling and see how you feel.
ARKET Gold-Plated Sculptural Hoops*
Another Lie Studios-esque find from ARKET - these earrings!! I like that these are actually pretty small, but the melted molten appearance give that sculptural feel. Why does this image make me want a silk neckerchief too!? HA! And a bob!? Just give me the whole lot!!! Whenever I’m wearing an earring like this I really like to style it with hair that’s scraped back in some way, and a bare neck - just really makes the earrings the focus of the look.
