Weekly Wishlist #13
The & Other Stories dupes for some of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe & the neck cuff to dress up any outfit…
It’s getting a little late in the day to order party pieces, so although there are a few pieces sprinkled in that could add some festive flair, I’ve tried to focus this Substack on sharing items that have more longevity to them than just feeling right for the Christmas period. I’ve also found some really good dupes for things that I already own so I’ve added those in there too. It’s a mixed bag, but hopefully one that you’ll enjoy and will inspire purchases that can do things in your wardrobe alllll year round…
As always free subscribers will be able to preview the first five items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full 10 piece edit every week and have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
ARKET Cable-Knit Wool Jumper* (I’d order a M)
Look you know by now that I have sworn off of roll-necks, especially big chunky ones as they don’t do anything for my double-chin situation, but I just had to share this one for those of you who LOVE a roll-neck style. It’s from ARKET (and is currently 15% off till Sunday - that deal is running site-wide for any purchases over £40), but feels very Toteme to me and I really love a navy knit. Especially how it’s styled here with indigo denim - I’m definitely going to have to give that a go with things that I already have in my wardrobe.
& Other Stories Dolman Sleeve Mini Dress* (I’d order this in a M)
I’m pretty sure that this is the same dress that Emma Rose was wearing in the summer and I loved it then and I love it now and now it’s back in stock! Always here for an LBD and this feels like it has the ability to not only be something that you could wear to the Christmas party, but also wear to a meeting in the summer months, but also dress up or make as casual as you want. I love the photo of Emma wearing it with a big black tote bag and black loafers - adding some masculine touches stops it feeling too frilly - and is totally how I would style it too.
Jigsaw Wide Leg Cord Trousers* (I’d order them in a 12)
The Apiece Apart Cords that I just ADORE have basically been out of stock since I bought them and to be fair I’ve been able to find some pretty cracking dupes, but I would say that these are the best ones yet. The colour is EXACTLY the same and they look like they have a similar straight-leg relaxed fit. So I just had to share incase you’ve been searching for a dupe and haven’t come up trumps just yet - I feel like these could be the one for you. Personally I love wearing mine for casual weekend plans and just pair them with Converse and a grey cashmere crew neck with some chunky hoops to add a little polish.
Whistles Holan Heeled Leather Boots* (Now 30% off)
In terms of boots I have three boxes that I like to tick. One - I like them to be 100% leather - from my experience they are just more likely to last and I am HEAVY on my feet. Two - I like a non-rounded toe; either something that is square, or pointed or more almond-like. Three - a heel height of around 7cm or under (the Dear Frances Spirit Boots are 8.5cm and I always found them a little too high for everyday wear). These boots tick all those boxes and when you think about it are a boot that we would have worn five years ago, and will probably still wear in five years time (and beyond!). Just one of those truly timeless pieces.
By Malene Birger Bolou Wool-Blend Jacket (I’d order this in a 38)
Lizzy gets a mention again further down in this newsletter, but when I saw her wearing this jacket I instantly bookmarked it ‘just incase’. I feel like I have the blanket coat category in my wardrobe covered with my all-black Toteme version, but if you’re still in the market then I just HAD to share because isn’t it wonderful? The fringing! The stripe! The boxy fit! It’s a complete outfit maker. All you need is a cream t-shirt, blue jeans, a loafer and then this. Absolutely stunning.
