Weekly Wishlist #12
The two LBD's that I love the look of, a leopard print jacket love story and my updated current wishlist...
When I sat down this write this post I wasn’t hopeful that this wishlist would be some of my finest work. There are sequins everywhere I turn online and everything feels a bit bedazzled and that just doesn’t massively float my boat. But once I did bit of digging and went back through my browsing I feel like I uncovered some real gems here; from an edit of vintage leopard print jackets, to the two dresses I’d have to choose between if I was in the market for one. I’ve also included my updated current wishlist, like I did last week and going forward I think that’s something I’m going to include for subscribers more regularly. So make sure you scroll to the bottom for that…
As always free subscribers will be able to preview the first five items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full 10 piece edit every week and have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Aligne Harissa Bralet in Black* (I’d order this in a 10, I feel like Aligne comes up large)
There was a big Aligne event last week and although I sadly couldn’t make it - I did see all my friends there looking absolutely FABULOUS in head to toe Aligne. And I think my standout piece was this. Quite a few of them wore it with the matching skirt, but I think I’d personally pair it with either a wide leg black trouser, or like a high waist denim. It’s taking ‘fancy top with jeans’ to the extreme, but if it feels too much you could always throw on a blazer over the top. It’s got that vintage feel to it, which in a way makes it feel so timeless and modern at the same time.
The Frankie Shop Croc-Effect Mini Skirt* (I’d order this in a M)
The animal print theme continues on this Substack. I’ve loved a mini skirt since my teenage days when I ripped out a picture to show my parents of a Miss Sixty bright red skirt that was so short that it had inbuilt pants. It never made it into my wardrobe, but I still love a mini to this date. I think the block colour of this makes it feel more wearable than a pattern for me, but the existence of the croc-effect there gives it a party edge. And I’m LOVING THAT. Imagine this with just a plain ol’ grey cashmere jumper and some knee-high boots?! That’s an evening look that I’m INTO. For a more affordable option try this MANGO Snake Print* one
& Other Stories Freshwater Pearl Hoops*, Dangling Gemstone Earrings*, Ball Chain Necklace*, Asymmetric Hoops* & Chunky Oval Hoop Earrings*
Sometimes all an outfit needs is a little jewellery to spice it back up, so instead of going the whole hog on a new festive party outfit, could you just add a pearl drop earring or a big chunky necklace to an already existing outfit!? I thought this selection from & Other Stories felt *very* Lie Studios-esque and basically for a 10th of the price. My one rule is to do either the necklace or the earring as the standout piece and then do the other extremely dainty. Think a Lie Studios earring with a Mejuri-esque chain - you can’t go wrong.
Clara Cashmere Crew Neck Cardigan in Wheat* (I wear it in a M)
I’d committed the landing page for this cashmere cardigan to memory as I’ve linked up the grey version that I own so many times. So imagine the GASP that I did when I saw that it is now available in more colours. Personally this ‘wheat’ shade is my favourite from the bunch - it’s not brown, it’s not grey, it’s mole? But you don’t need me to give you the spiel here - I’ve done it enough already. It fits perfectly, washes well and is easily one of the best purchases that I made in 2023. This with a white t-shirt under it, your favourite jeans and a black pointy boot?! 90’s Christmas film realness right there.
Anderson’s Leather Belt* (I wear an 85)
Just putting it onto your radar that there’s been a new drop of Anderson styles on NET-A-PORTER and seeing as it’s pretty fresh they currently have all sizes still in stock! You know what it’s like with these belts - they are quite tricky to get your hands on because they sell out so fast. I still love my classic black one that most, but from the newest designs I think the thinner, daintier, oval buckle on this one makes a nice change.
