Weekly Wishlist #11
The preloved bag round-up, the cable knit I'd buy from the menswear section and how I'm planning my style purchases going forward...
I get it, we’ve entered into ‘window shopping/gift buying only’ territory and so think of this week’s wishlist as a little wander around the shops with your mate, because I too am trying to chill my beans after Black Friday (see my new strategy below!). I thought I’d add in a few things that feel Christmas-list appropriate and a round-up of some preloved bags too, so let’s have a little peruse round the shops together, shall we?
As always free subscribers will be able to preview the first five items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full 10 piece edit every week and have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Reformation Bell Cashmere Mini Dress* (I wear a M)
Speaking of Black Friday, this was one of my purchases and I have to admit it was quite impulsive and not exactly something that was on my wishlist, but it feels like a bit of a no brainer for me to own. Cashmere?! Yes. And I do love a mini dress! And as someone who completely boils in social situations I quite like that it’s short-sleeved. This* is a pretty decent dupe if you don’t mind the long sleeve. So I picked it up and sure enough it’s a keeper. I’m not exactly a sequins and sparkles girl, so this is what I’ll be wearing for Christmas gatherings with the family with my knee-high boots and some semi-sheer tights which TikTok tells me is what we wear now. Do we have any tight recommendations?! I’ve been a 120 denier lover all my life, so what are we thinking? 60? 40? I’m all ears.
I’d waited and waited and I finally picked up the Dear Frances Skye Boots in the Black Friday sale. I gave away my Dear Frances Tony Boots (now discontinued!), to a friend as post-pregnancy they no longer fit and had had a flat leather boot shaped hole in my life since. I’m still waiting on them to arrive, so I’ll have to keep you hanging on my thoughts, but I thought that these from Jigsaw looked like a good dupe. I wanted something that wasn’t too chunky, sort of timeless in that way, 100% leather and something that I can slip on and off at the door. Now that I have two boys in the house that complain when I’m taking awhile to get ready, they feel quite necessary.
DISSH Emery Choc Oversized Tee* & Pants* (I’d actually go one size down in this - it’s extremely oversized)
I was very kindly gifted the cream version of this set back in the summer, although sadly in the wrong size - which happens sometimes if that’s all the have left - fair enough! I’m always happy to chip in with my own money or get things tailored. And it was just a very nice co-ord. Like a real ‘round the house, WFH-vibes’ kinda thing, but still pieces that work really nicely as separates too. If there is a loungewear lover in your life I feel like they would LOVE this - especially the t-shirt. In the summer it would be really nice to crack out at the weekends too.
Posse Emma Vest in Black* (I’d order this in a M)
I’m throwing this one in there as it’s an item that I’ve been thinking about since the beginning of summer, but it’s always out of stock. So definitely one of those things to buy during the winter time when you can actually get your hands on in it. It’s just a simple linen waistcoat with two big pockets on either side and there are very nice matching items available, but I feel like I would wear it the most with something like my ARKET silky trousers, or jeans in the spring/summer months. If you liked the waistcoat trend, but always saw yourself in something more casual and relaxed, then this might be worth looking into.
Sezane Wide Leg Trousers in Dark Beige* (I’d follow the sizing info and go for a size 10 in these for a closer fit)
Are you following Louisa Hatt?! Because if not, you must. Her taste and style?! Impeccable. Her in this RAEY leopard print co-ord!? OH MY WORD!! Another thing she’s been banging on about and looking glorious in are these trousers. You know I’ve been loving my cords and these are a slightly different fit in that they look tighter around the waist and wider in the leg, but equally wonderful. I’m always here for a good alternative to jeans and these are a trouser that you could easily slot in to any outfit you’d usually wear with those.
