I’ve taken this week off as holiday and although I thought I’d forgo Substack content for the week it turns out that my phone has been even more stuffed with style stuff to share than usual. Like it’s BRIMMING - I just *have* to write a post for you, I can’t help myself! So I’m going to try and make this snappier than usual, let’s see how I do…
What’s included in this week’s newsletter:
The sleeker version of the GANNI tie-up blouse, the hair ties I’ve just bought two of and a high-street denim waistcoat for spring.
Three Substacks to read in your lunchbreak and what’s been going on in the group chat this week.
What’s made it into my ‘Sewing Ideas’ photo album?
The simple tip that will help you to get dressed today if you have no idea what to wear.
And I’ve made my April purchase already. I’m making moves early this month!!
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six-piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you with ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. Plus a monthly style clinic where you can send me your wardrobe woes for me to solve. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up for the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Sézane Altea Blouse* (I’d order this in a 12)
Sézane just dropped a collection called ‘Sézane Editions’ that feels very chic. There are a few patterned pieces and bolder colours in there, but the bulk of it is neutral tailoring that just screams ‘I’m a guest at a wedding and black clothing is my happy place’. My top pick from the collection is this blouse which annoyingly seems sold out already but it’s worth putting on an alert so you could snap up a return. Of course, it looks super chic with the matching trousers, but I’d love this with a wide-leg mid-wash blue jean too.
Whistles Khaki Clean Bonded Leather Jacket* (I have the black in a M)
I scrolled back through my past newsletters to make sure that I hadn’t mentioned this and I don’t think I have!? HOW HAS THIS SLIPPED THROUGH THE NET?! One of my favourite jackets for those in-between weather days and now in this gorgeous olive green. I love the black, and then I kicked myself a bit when the brown came out, but this green?! Just stunning. I wear mine most just throw over simple jeans and t-shirt outfits. It’s held up really well.
Allison shared someone wearing this in one of her carousels recently and I spent ages searching for who made it, then Harry shared the direct link this week and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I don’t count jewellery items in my ‘one item per month’ rule, but I have tried to slow my spending across the board so as not to transfer my clothing spending to another area like jewellery or pyjamas or workout gear (can you tell I’m speaking from experience here!?!). So I’m going to sit on it for a bit, but my next jewellery buy will either be this - which feels like something a bit different for me - or these Lié Studios earrings*.
