The forecast is looking good! We’re on the up! Spring has… sprung? So for this week’s style dip things are looking soft and light and linen-y…
What’s included in this week’s newsletter:
Three high-street soft spring staples, a pair of jeans that look like a dupe for my always out-of-stock Sézane pair and a button-down cashmere vest that looks oh so soft.
The three posts I saved this week on Substack, including one MEGA New York shopping itinerary.
My moodboard for the week ahead - save it for yourself!!!
An Instagram post with outfit formulas for the rest of the week and a TikTok sewing tip for saving your denim.
The movers and shakers from my style wishlist, including my April purchase.
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six-piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you with ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. Plus a monthly style clinic where you can send me your wardrobe woes for me to solve. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up for the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
By Malene Birger Leonnes Organic Cotton-Poplin Top*
I saw this top on my scrolling travels last week and screengrabbed it immediately so I could remember to share it with you. It just looks like one of those floaty summer tops that you can throw on with jeans without really thinking. But add it over a slinky silk skirt with a red lip and your favourite jewellery and you’ve got yourself a perfect relaxed dinner-out look there. Could be a good multi-tasker.
Reformation Mason Pant* (I wear a 12 - they are true to size)
There was a thread in the chat this week about comfy wide-leg trousers that you could wear to work but also at the weekends, travelling etc. I’ll pop the full thread below so you can see everyone’s recommendations, but I saw someone suggest the Reformation Mason Pants and I had to throw in my two cents that they would be my top choice too. They aren’t an elastic waistband situation, but the waistband is soft and forgiving and sits at a height that doesn’t cut in. They have quite a light texture, so they are more of a spring/summer/autumn trouser, but the drape lends itself to looking both relaxed or a little formal depending on what you pair them with. Plus they come in every colour under the sun.
Skall Studio Raglan-Sleeve Twill Trench Coat*
When I was answering your questions from my April Style Clinic, I came across this trench. Firstly, Skall Studio at Selfridges?! Yes please!!! And secondly. I just love that it’s a trench/car coat mash-up, which was exactly what the reader was looking for. You know all your favourite skandi girls that you follow and they wear these oversized jackets that are sort of trenches, but sort of not. THIS IS THAT! I was so chuffed when I found it and had to save it to share here too. I just imagine wearing it with a white vest top underneath and wide-leg jeans and flip-flops. This is a pretty good high-street dupe* if you’re interested.
