This newsletter includes:
The V-neck cashmere jumper that isn’t going to break the bank, the loafers that are giving Celine vibes, a coat that feels like a chic update to the Toteme scarf style and a suede jacket that’s *actually* still in stock.
The five new Substacks I highly recommend you subscribe to, plus my new Pinterest board that’s already chocker with outfit ideas.
Eight outfit formulas you probably already have in your wardrobe that will take you through into autumn (and this weird cold spell we’re having), plus the two things I ended up buying this month.
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list, and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six-piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary, which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you with ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. Plus a monthly style clinic where you can send me your wardrobe woes for me to solve. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up for the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’ll have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Reformation Silvana Bucket Bag*, Madewell Essential Bucket Tote*, & Other Stories Large Suede Tote Bag* & MANGO Suede Shopper*
It seems we’re all stocking up on suede because finding something suede that’s in stock right now feels like an Olympic sport. Instead of focusing on the forever sold-out jackets, my top tip would be to invest in a bag instead, so I’ve got four for you here that would all look great slung over your shoulder with jeans, a t-shirt and an oversized leather jacket. My top tip would be to go for something in a deeper colour, like a brown or dark olive, because suede is not the hardiest of fabrics. I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way with that one!
Loulou Studio Samur Organic Jeans* (I’d order them in a 28)
I went down a rabbit hole trying to find out the style of these jeans this week. I originally saw them in a post shared by Anna on TikTok, then followed her online paper trail until I eventually found the link. This style of denim is one that I don’t really own (I know - SHOCKER!). High on the waist and a little bum-huggy, but then straight and sort of loose on the leg. They look like a great option for autumn as they’d pair with a loafer or a big chunky black boot well. Has anyone given Loulou Studio denim a go and can advise on sizing?
Carhartt WIP Michigan Coat* (I’d order a S - it’s on sale here too*)
Lucy shared this jacket in her latest Substack, and I have to say I’m tempted. The majority of the jackets and coats I own tend to sit more on the polished end of my three-word scale, but something like this could help to give my autumn outfits more of an undone vibe. Imagine this, with a big suede bag, a cracking pair of jeans and a loafer? Heavenly. There are barn jackets galore out there right now, but sometimes, it’s the simplest one that’s the best choice.
