I’m just going to crack on with this one because it feels like in the past seven days we’ve taken a turn in the right direction. There have been some cracking high-street launches, couture week is reviving us all and there are just a lot of new style discoveries to share, so let’s do this!
What’s included in this week’s newsletter…
a very KHAITE-ish drop at ARKET
the spring version of the Toteme scarf-coat (it’s like if a trench coat and the Toteme scarf coat had a baby)
three substack posts that I saved this week
an Instagram post that I wish I never saw! And sent me down a secondhand leopard print bag rabbit hole
A sewing school update
Two IG accounts to follow for allll the minimal ‘90’s outfit ideas
The January purchase I made from my wishlist and the one thing I think I’m going to remove…
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
ARKET Double-Face Wool Coat* (I’d order this in a 38 and 40 to see what fitted better)
I knew eventually the high-street would catch-up an offer us a more affordable alternative to the oversized RAEY coat and here it is!!! A decent wool composition (80% - compared to the new version of the RAEY that is 61% linen, 27% wool and 12% cotton, they’ve changed it as my one is 95% wool, 3% polyamide, 1% silk and 1% elastane). It’s navy, it looks oversized and has the same tie-detail on the sleeves which I really like. The RAEY one is style of coat that I reach for on a regular basis so I can vouch that it’s been a good wardrobe investment for me.
Sezane Maxence Jumper* & Lazare Trousers* (I’d order both of these in a M)
I posted a Sezane job last week and did a round-up on my blog of four working from home outfits, one of which was this co-ord. Look I’m always here for a matchy matchy working from home set, that’s 100% natural fibres (this one is wool) and easy to break down if you just fancy wearing the top or bottoms separately. And let’s not forget how versatile a knitted trouser can be! Here’s a post on that if you missed it…
If you’re a regular reader of this newsletter then you will know that I basically wear my two pairs of Lie Studios earrings on repeat throughout the week. I have pretty sensitive ears and these never bother them. They do that magical thing of looking chunky and heavy, but always feeling surprisingly light on the ears. The good news is that they have a new style out - the Vera! It’s like they were reading my mind as I was looking for a ‘knotty’ type of style. I have a hoop, I have a dome stud, I have a drop earring - but a vintage-looking knot!? There’s a space in my collection for that…
