The Weekly Wishlist: Dupes For Some Of My Most-Worn Items
...plus an exclusive Substack-only video series
This newsletter includes:
The high-street version of my St-Agni linen t-shirt, a spot-on dupe for the Lié Studios earrings I wear every single day and three dresses for summer dress-haters.
I’ve been dying to share two Substacks with you—including one that’ll teach you about synthetic fabrics—and my favourite YouTube discovery, which is like fashion ASMR for style enthusiasts.
Love a moodboard? I’ve got three for you here.
The first video in a newsletter-exclusive series, where I take a deep dive into one of my most recent purchases and discover some GREAT outfit formulas for the little white dress.
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list, and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six-piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary, which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you with ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. Plus a monthly style clinic where you can send me your wardrobe woes for me to solve. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up for the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’ll have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Reformation Jessi Linen Dress* (go one size down, I wear a 10) & Collins Shirt (it looks quite oversized, I’d order this one size down in a 10)
I’m going to put it out there that I wasn’t exactly wowed by the Laura Harrier x Reformation collab. Everything felt a bit… stretchy. It all read a bit too skintight for me. Everyone is raving about the Danielle Pant* and I see the appeal (plus, they do look like a pair Laura actually wears!), but my top pick would be this shirt. The colour? Divine. And I like how it feels like a short jacket when worn open - it has some weight to it and the length works. Whilst having a little browse on there I also discovered this absolutely stunning colour of a dress that we’ll get into later on in the newsletter. True autumns UNITE. I wore the white version in yesterday’s post.
Every now and again, we go through a bit of a weird patch stock-wise in the fashion industry. Summer is only just kicking in in the U.K., but autumn items are arriving, and I’m just not in the mood to buy a cable knit jumper right now. When that happens I turn to dupes. What items can I find that are either in-stock pieces for things I wear all the time or things with a slightly less hefty price tag for things that I wear all the time? These tick off both of those boxes. You might remember the Sézane wide legs jeans, which I’ve worn practically on a weekly basis since January when I got them. They promptly went out of stock and have never come back, and these from COS look very, very similar. A wide-leg, relaxed fit and a waist that can be hoicked up with a belt or worn a bit lower if you’d like. I live in mine.
DONNI The Silk Drawstring Pant in Olive* (I’d order these in a M)
You know my ARKET silk trousers*? I have them in a khaki, semi-gold, semi-green colour they released two years ago. Again, they are one of those pieces that have never come back!! And it’s a tricky colour to dupe as most that I find are too champagne, or too green. But these from DONNI look pretty much spot-on. It’s a brand to check out if you’re in the mood for working-from-home/weekend slouchy basics. Their t-shirts and jumpers always tempt me. If I were looking to expand my silk trousers collection, the Silky Simple Pant in Navy* would look like a good choice, too.
ALIGNE Leah Mini Dress* (I’d go one size down in this - I’m usually a 12, but wear a 10)
Just throwing in a bonus fourth pick here as I got a ‘BACK IN STOCK’ email notification for this dress last night, so do what you need to with that information. As noted above, this comes up large, so I’d go one size down from your usual here (I wear a 10 when I’d usually wear a 12). Imagine this with a loafer and a little bag? Sign me up. I’m in a big dress mood today, as you’ll see...
