I have to say that online shopping has a weird vibe this week; the last dregs of sale are still hanging around and brands are bringing in spring pieces already (one of Ref’s new-in items was a linen jumpsuit!!), yet we’re about to tackle the coldest part of the winter here in the U.K. It’s all just a bit of a mish-mash, so instead of delivering you extremely unseasonable buys, or just a million chunky jumpers, I’ve focused on things that I’ve had my eye on for a while (and maybe one that I can see turning into an actual buy for me).
What’s included in this week’s newsletter…
The paid subs section of the wishlist includes the only designer bag that I’d actually buy right now, and one of the best Toteme boot dupes I’ve seen.
Have you heard of the 75 Hard style challenge?
The post this week that gave me some new outfit formulas and the one that gave me food for thought.
I’ve started a sewing and dressmaking course!
The new addition to my wishlist (and what I think I’ll buy for January).
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up to the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
Aligne Leo Long Waistcoat* (I have this in the 12, but if you’re small chested like me I’d size down, I think a 10 would fit me better)
This is more just a PSA to tell you that my favourite black waistcoat is finally back in stock after being OOS for months!!! It’s such a good shape, easy to wash (I just throw mine into the washing machine on a 40) and has an adjustable waist tie at the back too. I’ve got a fair amount of wear out of it and have managed to make it work for the winter months by sticking a ribbed long-sleeve underneath. It’s also now available in this beautiful buttercream. A good choice for Aligne because even though it’s a pastel in a sense (which is a no-go area for me!!), I’d pitch it as more of a ‘spring neutral’ - plus it looks great with indigo denim.
Galvan Crepe Jumpsuit* (I’d order this in a FR40)
I’ve thought about this jumpsuit for YEARS. I am not kidding. It’s been on my radar for a good three years I’d say. It’s just *the* black jumpsuit for me, so simple and so chic and would be my black-tie appropriate choice, which is something that my occasionwear wardrobe currently lacks. Turns out it’s 50% of the sale currently. Now, me of a few weeks ago would probably have pressed purchase on this - it’s something I’ve longed after, on a deal and fills a hole in my wardrobe. However I’ve set myself a target of items to buy this year (just one piece for the month of Jan) and even though it fills a hole in my wardrobe, it’s probably just a perceived one because I’m not sure I’ve had to dress myself for a black tie event in the past year, let alone my life! And if I did I would just be able to rent it. GROWTH!!! Ha!
Rixo Milly Bohemia Leopard Coat* (I’d order this in a 12)
This coat just keeps swirling around in the style soup in my brain. The shape! The print! The tones! There is something about it that just feels like it needs to be in my wardrobe. I’d style it how it’s worn here - nothing fussy, just with jeans and black boots and a top. I’ve searched around - like really dug around - and just haven’t been able to find anything cheaper, even secondhand (my preloved Karen Millen one from Vinted comes close, but sits a bit closer to the body and isn’t as long - if I were to get this I would probably sell that one). Like you know when you look at something and you get a physical ‘WANT’ reaction!?! That is how I feel about this coat. So does it need to be added officially to the wishlist. Let’s see…
