There’s most definitely a sprinkling of spring in this newsletter - a bit of colour, a sandal here and there, a light jacket. We’re gearing up! It’s also a LONG ONE - I just ended up with a lot to say!! So make sure you’re comfy before you get stuck in.
What’s included in this week’s newsletter…
A black high-street waistcoat that’s a dupe for my SIR one, a pair of earrings that can make an outfit and two sub-£150 bags that feel designer.
The two Substacks I saved this week (featuring commentary on the shuttering of Matches 😢).
An IG reel that will never make it onto my grid! I’ve included it here just for you.
One more thing to add to the ‘DO NOT BUY’ list.
Two outfits to recreate this spring (and the suede jacket I’m adding to my wardrobe).
…and what my wishlist is looking like (and the piece I’ve pressed purchase on).
Free subscribers will be able to preview the first three items from the list and paid subscribers will be able to see the full six-piece edit every week, along with the rest of my style digest (think screengrabs, recreations, my favourite reads and a peek at my Notion wish list). Paid subscribers will also have exclusive access to my Weekly Wardrobe Diary which will detail every single thing I’ve worn in the week prior and hopefully arm you will ALL THE OUTFIT INSPO. Plus a monthly style clinic where you can send me over your wardrobe woes for me to solve. A subscription works out at £1.15 per week if you sign up for the monthly plan - see it as a wardrobe investment because you’re going to have outfit formulas by the bucketload. The next instalment of that will be in your inbox on Sunday evening/early Monday morning. See you then!
ARKET Rib-Knit Short Sleeve Top* & Silk Trousers*
As always the ARKET new-in section is delivering the goods, but these two pieces were my standouts this week. Last autumn I found I got a lot of wear out of a knitted t-shirt - it’s good for those in-between days that are just around the corner. Keep it simple, this t-shirt with some wide-leg jeans and a massive earring? Lush. But then I squealed when I saw they had the silk trousers back. THE SILK TROUSERS! I have this exact pair in khaki gold that I wear all the time - year-round. Sadly they haven’t bought back that colour, but they do have a rich chocolate brown in stock. If you want some ideas on how to wear them, check out this post.
Aligne Isla Knitted Tank* (I’d order this in a M)
I’ve had some sneak peeks of the spring collection that’s coming from Aligne and let me tell you - if you think that it’s good already!? Oh, you just wait!! Spring pieces are trickling onto the site and this is my favourite from their latest drop. A knitted tie-up top that feels a little like the knitted waistcoats that I wore a tonne last summer, with a bit of GANNI-esque flavour thrown in. There’s a red and a stripe one too, although this would be the most versatile in my wardrobe. I’d wear it most with some slightly oversized black straight-leg jeans and my Emme Parsons Bari sandals.
There’s been some movement on my wishlist and you’ll see in a bit that these have been added! Last summer I lived in my Havaiana flip-flops, but could these be the fancier version of those? I think they could be. The leather looks quite thin and soft, so the comfort levels of the straps should be ok (although the sole is thin, so if I was going for a long ol’ walk I’d probably grab a pair of sandals that had a thicker bottom to them). But I just adore the simplicity. They are exactly what I was looking for.
