When I started my wishlist system, one of the most popular requests was to review all my purchases at the end of the year. With the idea of a tidy post outlining my thoughts on my 12 buys - one a month for the year - I felt buoyed. How edited and streamlined - the dream!! Of course, that all went out the window by May, and I’ve been semi-mortified to write this post since. Then I read Emily’s post on her purchases for the year and found it so interesting to read through the highs and the lows, the good and the bad, the ‘how did I live without this?’ and the ‘what was I thinking?’. And actually, I think there’s something to learn through doing this. So here you go. Strap in because we’re doing mini speed review of every👏single👏thing👏 I bought in 2024…
This post is the first in a three-part series:
Firstly, I’m going to review it all. ALL. I have to say that even just this first step has been enlightening/embarrassing.
I will collate all these buys into a spreadsheet to pull out the trends and common themes and analyse them. There are definitely some big learnings in all of this!
Then, finally - the plan. How can I apply this to my purchasing habits for next year? Can you tell that I love data?!
Get comfy; you’re going to want to grab a snack for this one…
