How A Four Day Break From My Wardrobe Upgraded My Personal Style
Because sometimes you just need a hard reset...
Ok, ‘upgrade’ might be too strong. Perhaps ‘organised for summer’ is a more appropriate way of discussing what I did for R&R on holiday. We were on our feet for most of the day - read my recap of the week here - so in the evenings, Mark and I just wanted to do that age-old romantic activity - scroll on our phones. Don’t worry!!! We also read, sat out, and ate chocolate and crisps as the sun set, but seeing as our little one was out for the count early, we had TIME in the evenings. And I love time! Time is something I don’t get so much when we’re at home as there are always bits and bobs to do around the house or work tasks to tie up. But seeing as I was on a self-imposed work ban, I found a way around it by spending my early evenings squirrelling away at organisation tasks that I feel have sharpened up my personal styling tools.
There’s something about a holiday that acts as a bit of a hard reset - almost like the start of a new chapter and we were only away for four days! But having that physical space from my wardrobe and completing this almost workbook of styling tasks, I feel this shift in me like I KNOW exactly how I want to dress right now. I had the vision!!! And I think doing all these tasks solidified that. So here’s exactly what I did whilst the little one was snoozing and I was supposed to be, errrr, relaxing…
