There have been many new faces around these parts recently, thanks to the *wonderful* India Knight!!! FANGIRL MOMENT! So welcome to my weekly outfit diary, where I well, document everything I wear in a week. It does what it says in the tin really. Sometimes, the outfits are great, and sometimes, not, because life just gets in the way. Either way, it’s a deep dive into personal style and finding ways to access it with ease, even on the days when you can’t be arsed. Free subscribers see Monday and Tuesday, and paid subscribers see the whole week, including various diary tit-bits like recipes and beauty bits I’m loving, too. My aim is to arm you with a tonne of formulas and ideas for the week ahead. If I’m ON IT, expect it on a Sunday evening, or if I’m on a Real Housewives binge/down a Severance Reddit rabbit hole, first thing Monday morning. Either way, it’s freshly squeezed…
MONDAY

This outfit was a second-time piece-for-piece re-wear because I loved it so much the first time around. According to my Indyx, I had previously, erm, *never* worn this jacket out of the house, but I wore it last week and felt like this outfit ticked all the boxes for a polished but still pretty chill outfit for meeting with friends or errands, without the need to change back into my ‘comfies’ immediately upon return to the house. If you want to give it a whirl yourself, here’s the formula - a knitted jumper + a pair of jeans you feel fab in (perhaps with a slightly wider leg than usual) + comfy shoes (here I went for my brown suede loafers) + a statement jacket + your everyday bag of choice.
TUESDAY
I had a day of meetings in London on Tuesday - a day of the week where I can push my outfit into a slightly more elevated territory that feels too much for my usual routine of working from home and childcare drop-offs and pick-ups. I gave myself some time to marinate in the morning to piece together something I loved, and it was my favourite outfit of the week. A few key takeaways:
A black turtleneck under an oversized shirt adds warmth but extra detail too.
Get your jeans tailored to your perfect length (I used The Seam). Previously, these were about three inches too long, and I never wore them. Now, they are my second skin.
A pair of boots can make you feel just a bit sexy. I haven’t worn heeled boots much this season, but clip-clopping around in them made me feel things.
Hold on to bags that you love. I first bought this Sophie Hulme bag in 2013 (my first EVER NET-A-PORTER purchase), sold it a few years later in a charity auction and have regretted it ever since. I snapped up a bargain on Vinted, and now it’s back in my life again. If you love it, keep it - even if it’s not something that’s in your heavy rotation right now (more on that here).
