MONDAY
Monday’s outfit was inspired by this photo I saw of Emme Parsons in ‘The Love List’ newsletter by Jess. Yes - Emme Parsons! Of summer Bari Sandal fame!! Of course she has impeccable style and when I saw this simple outfit, I thought it would make for a good WFH outfit for me. Of course I needed to layer up a little as our house doubles up as a fridge, but give this one a go - black vest top + cream cashmere jumper + black belt + black wide leg trousers + fun shoe.
Two things - I went with an animal print shoe to make it feel more ‘me'. And the second thing was that I actually don’t own a pair of wide leg black trousers with a belt loop, except for these which are linen. Obviously more of a summer fabric, but it’s nothing that a pair of tights underneath can’t solve and actually the linen and the cashmere worked really well together. Just a reminder that sometimes digging through the summer section of your wardrobe is a good idea!
TUESDAY
On Tuesday we took some updated headshots for a new project I’m working on (paid subs of this newsletter will hear the news first and get the chance to be front the queue!), and I actually filmed this outfit for my ‘What I’m Wearing Today’ Instagram series. I wanted the shots to feel like me - classic, undone and polished - professional, but not too serious. There’s nothing that a jeans and a tucked in shirt can’t do, especially when you sprinkle in a classic belt and your favourite jewellery. Mark did a great job and I love how they turned out. The amount of times I’m asked for high res images of myself and end up sending a mirror selfie taken on my phone is embarrassing, so look - a little portfolio!
