I can’t write this post without first addressing the prelude to this week’s wardrobe diary. Did you catch my post from Tuesday? No worries! Read it here! TLDR: I made a capsule wardrobe of sorts. I basically slimmed down my current rail to a more concise edit, just for fun, because that is the kind of thrill seeker I am these days. I didn’t attempt to hit a certain amount of items, nor do I have an allotted time to stick with this set-up; I just wanted to run a little experiment and see how it turned out with the main aim of making getting ready every morning that tiny bit easier. Has it worked? Well, the proof is in the pudding…
MONDAY
I’m writing this post freshly squeezed on a Sunday night, and I have to say that this outfit is a cracker that I might have to revisit tomorrow. It was a bank holiday here in the U.K. on Monday (erm, why does this feel like it was about 167 years ago!?), so we pottered around the house in the morning and then went to visit family for dinner. This outfit was perfect for that - relaxed but pulled together, and it feels like the perfect way to do double-denim for spring. The linen t-shirt and the bag just help to break it up. It was one of those outfits where I tried it on and straight away was like, ‘YES!!’. I was feeling this tighter edit of clothing straight off the bat.
TUESDAY
A functional London day was on the cards on Tuesday. Sometimes, my trips to London are for things that are fun and glitzy, and sometimes, they aren’t. Tuesday fell into the latter, and to rub it in, it rained all day. So the outfit reflected that - it needed to be practical as there were a lot of steps to get in, but I tried to lever it into spring with a lighter linen vest and a textural bag (that can also fit a laptop in!). So try this combo next time it’s pouring day but is weirdly clammy at the same time: a summery top + straight-leg black jeans + leather loafers (bonus points if they add some colour) + a black trench + a more summer-vibes bag.
