Everything I Wore Last Week
What to wear when you used a new fake tan and it didn't end well...
MONDAY
Cast your mind back to Monday. It was freezing. Like, ‘turn on the heating again’ cold. This May weather so far has been a RIDE. Just six days later, I turned to my Dad in the garden and said, ‘It feels like we’re on holiday!’ but back to Monday. It was chilly, so I called in an outfit that was fluff on fluff. My biggest, cosiest jumper, which was a wildly big spend four years ago, is one I wrap myself in on the reg whenever I want to feel like I’m wearing a duvet. Paired with my knitted MANGO trousers from my matching set, that a lovely reader alerted me to the fact that they are still available at the outlet (who knew MANGO had an outlet? Not I!). I was warm, it performed its purpose, and of course, I added… a big gold pair of earrings.
TUESDAY
Here is where the fun begins. The weather was on the up, but seeing as I was out early, I layered up, and truly, this is where spring dressing really comes into its own. The ability to layer without sweat pooling in foldable areas is the opportunity for a really cracking outfit in my book. I think the secret is to go wild with different textures - here I have suede (jacket), knitted (vest), linen (trousers) and leather (bag and shoes), and it’s that mix that really gives the outfit some interest. I don’t think you can go overboard with textures. The more the merrier! Give it a go - knitted vest + suede jacket + linen trousers + large leather bag + leather sandals.
