11 Alternatives To The Loewe Puzzle Bag
...because £2.5k in this economy is *quite* the ask
It’s fair to say that I’m asked about my Loewe Puzzle Bag a lot, and I get it. Number one - I’ve had it for YEARS, so I’m able to give it a fair review. And two - due to price jumps, the bag now costs a cool £2,500 (almost £1k more than I paid for it - OUCH!). It’s a huge price to pay, and you want to know if it’s worth it. Like Barbora asked in this month’s Style Clinic (a service for paid subs - next month’s one will open up in two weeks):
“If you were to get one bag that could carry you through? Mom of a 10-month-old. I have the APC Demi Lune but it’s a tad too small and hella annoying to get into. Is the Puzzle worth the current price tag or is there a better option? Would love to stay under £1000 and closer to £500 if that’s even possible?”
Barbora, I’ve got you. The long and short answer is that yes, I still recommend the Puzzle (although I can only talk about the longevity and quality of the original style, not the new one). Although I don’t think it’s worth £2.5k, I’d recommend checking out Vestiaire* to get yourself a deal on a secondhand one. That’s still a pricey buy, so for today’s post, I thought I’d round up some alternatives for you. Here’s my criteria:
100% leather
Design-wise, they all have a top handle and a detachable crossbody strap, like the Loewe. This feels important to me because it adds so much versatility to the bag.
